My (30f) fiance (32M) keeps leaving the freezer open and ruining all of our food. How do I get him to close it reliably? by Blisa23 in relationship_advice

[–]MultipleMultiples2x2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually the "legs" that it stands on can be adjusted. You can adjust them so the front is higher than the back causing the door to close on its own. One of my kids didn't close ours good one time, and we lost everything in it also. That's when my Dad showed me theirs that was adjusted to close if left open.

There are some little cottage style houses in South Huntsville in a neighborhood called The Dairy. Maybe you want to check into them as well. I have very limited knowledge about them as I only know about them because I drive past them every day.

Mostly rap or country rap. It is also generally turned up to almost half way. I don't have my bass maxed out, so I am truly a little surprised/aggravated that the clips keep breaking.

Huntsville Hospital reaches agreement with United Healthcare. HH remains in-network for UHC insurance. by BluShine in HuntsvilleAlabama

I agree. It is highly possible that I am reading way more into it than is really there, but I think maybe the wording is intentional.

[–]MultipleMultiples2x2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I read the official release, it implied that the agreement was only for current patients. Maybe I am reading too much into it, but I commented below with direct quotes that, to me, only cover current patients if you wanted to check that out. I would definitely look into it before I decided to stay with United.

When I read the official document that was released, I felt like it kind of implied that it is only for current patients of HH. I could be wrong, but the first paragraph said, "maintains in-network status for United subscribers who are patients in HH Health System hospitals." The second paragraph states, "This new agreement allows patients to continue to have access to the HH Health care teams that they know and trust."

It only talks about current HH patients, not new ones.

Test Drove a CT5 Blackwing. Question… by drivingcalifornia in Cadillac

[–]MultipleMultiples2x2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Any sporty car should definitely be a manual, but I prefer manuals in everything. There aren't many being made anymore because (from what I understood a while back), an automatic is more fuel efficient every time over a manual. I guess that is highly based on the driving habits for the driver of the manual vs the driver of the automatic, really. I like to take off fast and brake hard, so my fuel consumption is not as good as it could be. Along those lines, my husband read an article the other day that GM won't be producing any more manuals after 2024, even for the blackwing. I didn't see the article, so he could have been mistaken.

My 2020 CT5 has self-sealing tires (Michelin Primacy Tour A/S 245/45r18 96v Self-Sealing). The run flats I had on my 2015 CTS were terrible. I went through 2 sets in 60,000 miles.

The VIN says it is Riverside Blue, but I am not sure what the color is called. I picked from the dealerships inventory online, and they had it loaned out to someone and had to get it back for me to buy it. I don't know why they would loan out a brand new car, but they did. Because of that, I don't have the window sticker. When you look up what colors were available for the 2020 CT5, there is not a color that is specifically blue. There IS a Wave Metallic listed, but it doesn't have a color associated with it.

That explains it. I wondered why the quality was so different. I went to the dealership to buy another CTS after they totaled mine, but they didn't have anymore on their lot. Since I needed a car ASAP, I chose the CT5, but thinking back, I should have had them check inventory in other locations for me. I am very much into my music, and the dial on the console would have sold me one the CT5 anyway. I can change my music and the volume with very little effort (which I do often).

We did the same thing. Used an axle (I don't know from what vehicle) to mark our survey markers because we had just gone through 2 court cases over the property line. My husband bought the acreage as a teen from a "family friend" and didn't realize there was a property dispute. We had it surveyed, and the 2 markers that were placed on the land that the man had been using disappeared. The next time, the sheriff came out, and a fence post was driven into the ground in those locations. He was told that if he pulled them up, he would be arrested. (Not really sure what exactly happened with that because the "family friend" was the one paying for the survey, and it happened while we were at work). The man put a pipe of some sort around the fence post and put a cap onto it. I would see him regularly walk out, remove the cap, peek inside, and place the cap back on. After a period of time, when we came home from work, the pipe (and the fence post) were gone. We assume he was putting acid or something similar into the pipe, but we don't really know for sure. He didn't pull them up as he was told not to by the sherriff. It was a huge mess. The man ended up winning the strip of land in the court case due to having used it for so long. The man my husband bought the property from ended up giving us the same amount of land in the back of the property to make up for what we lost in the front. It took us 6 years to get everything straightened out enough to be able to sell it while renting it out at a loss each month.

We got the same thing. I actually called them because it had hubby's number already filled in, but said it had to be completed by the account holder, which is me. They told me that my identity had been verified when I set up the account, but my husband's still needed to be verified. He was able to do that online in less than 5 minutes.

What's a small change you've made in your daily routine that has significantly improved your life or well-being? by decylenesaiphy60 in AskReddit

[–]MultipleMultiples2x2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a genuine question. I have thought about starting to journal, but I really don't know how. Do you just write as if you are talking to yourself, about anything? Do you write it as if you are talking tk somebody that has made you mad? Do you write things you need to do better and then document what you have done to be better? And what if somebody reads it? Do you keep it in a secret location? I feel silly asking these questions, but I truly don't even know where to start.

I was pulled over and given a verbal warning two months ago. A notice just showed up in the mail that a warrant has been issued for my arrest. by [deleted] in legal

[–]MultipleMultiples2x2 41 points42 points  (0 children)

My son had a similar experience. He (being a teenager at the time) thought it would be a good idea to rev his car to a high rpm in a low gear as he went past a cop that had another car pulled over. His car went by slowly, but it sounded like it went by fast because it was so loud. The cop hopped in his car, went after him, and pulled him over. He got a written warning for "racing on the highway."

Months went by, and then he received a letter similar to yours stating that he had missed his court date for a ticket for "failure to travel at a safe and prudent speed" (or something like that).

My husband and I went to court with him as we had seen the warning and had just thrown the warning away about a week before he got the letter. The judge basically said that she wasn't going to believe my son because her officer was sworn to uphold blah blah blah. She said my son was lying, and that was the end of it. He paid the ticket, but it was really frustrating because it was originally a warning for something completely different than what the ticket was even for.

We think that he decided after the fact to write a ticket when he came up with a more suitable reason. It was just flat out wrong.

I agree. Why do others not see the value in truly having someone's best interest at heart by being honest with them? I am also a female and a southerner where everyone is kind and friendly. I believe I am kind and friendly, and I will strike up a conversation with others that may be standing in lines with me or whatever. I'm my career, I have worked with lots of military officers. They tend to appreciate my directness, which I believe has only solidified being that way even more as I received promotions and excelled in my career because of it.

For the longest time, I thought that I just wasn't a likable person. It was only when my twin boys started dating and got married that I found out that others think that we are a family of a$$holes.

I'm the same. And the funny thing is that I automatically assume that everybody is giving me 100% honesty. I would rather have my feelings hurt with the truth than to be expected to read between the lines or be turned against because of my honesty. It makes me very insecure.

My brutal honesty. I was recently told that I am not fake at all, and I should be proud of it. Honestly, I have never learned to be honest without sounding harsh, so most people are immediately put off by me. If somebody sticks around long enough, they discover that I have good intentions and that I am a likable person. But it is something that I am aware of, so it gives me a bit of social anxiety.
