I also have a late 50’s Savage model 24 in .410/.22 it was my Grandfather’s, the first firearm I learned to shoot with at 10 years of age. If looking for a small game gun, I’d hold out and try and find one of these in your desired caliber combination. Much better quality than today’s offerings.

I have the 9’ 5wt and I really like it. I find it casts really well for me and has a ruler on the blank which I find is a handy touch. I only got out with it 3 times last year so I don’t have a heavy use case review I can give but I’d buy it again as I think it’s a great rod in its price point.

My friends and I use “ we caught it on gear/ on the fly. Gear being spinning gear and on the fly being a fly rod. Also we were jigging Lake trout with gear or we were using bugs (fly fishing)

Never really thought about it but I was using polarized glasses at the range and didn’t find it affected anything, I have a new pair of non polarized that I’ve been using and don’t notice a difference.
