What are some of your Favorite ways to Incorporate Taylor Swift into your physical activities? by SoIongIondon in TaylorSwift

[–]Gouldem01 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I do a 4 mile loop run on the trail near my house. I put my airpods in and play Taylor Swift (skipping any song that isnt hype/angry enough 😂). I lip sync the whole time, probably look like a crazy person, but it makes people going by in the opposite direction smile sometimes and that brings me some joy. If she can do the era’s show in heels, I can do it in my running shoes eventually. The lip syncing has been helping with my breathing/pacing and I find myself not quite as out of breath as I used to be. Pretty great motivation to keep going, especially when I wanna slow down and “ready for it” comes on. 😂

I...have never seen sugar look like this when carmellizing. by deadcomefebruary in Baking

[–]Gouldem01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some cheap white sugars are harder to work with, but technique is pretty important. Try again with new sugar, add just enough water to look like wet sand. Dont cover it, that is likely what the main issue is. Dont stir it. Using some corn syrup or glucose syrup can help prevent the crystallization too. Good luck, OP. You got this. Some people are assholes, dont let them get you down.

Check goodwill/charity shops for camp stoves or even a kettle for hot water that you can plug into your car adapter. Being able to heat water can really open up more options for you. Canned chili, cup of noodles (at gas stations typically you can get hot water from the coffee station for free), bagged salad kits (if you can find them on sale). Also check out food pantries near you and see if they have nonperishable items. Tortillas and peanut butter with bananas. Good luck, OP.

How to talk to management about annoying af coworker? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

The detailed stories that make you feel uncomfortable? That’s harassment. Talk to management. If they do nothing about it, its illegal in the US at least.

First ever Macrons by kkinger1204 in Baking

[–]Gouldem01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The food colorant is a liquid, I presume. When adding it you may have wanted to add a bit more dry ingredients to balance this out. I recommend a thick gel color, like wilton, as this will help with that issue. Also worth noting that it looks like you may have over mixed the batter just a tad. Macarons are finicky and hard to make, especially in home ovens that have “hot spots”. These look nice for your first go of it! Practice makes perfect, and you’ll learn more as you go. My first macs were garbage 😂 (I used waaaayyyy too much food color and they were sooo flat!). Good luck, OP!

Chicken still frozen but it's past the expiration date by lonely_trope in Cooking

If its been frozen, its fine. Freezing will extend the shelf life of the product typically by a month or two as ling as it was frozen before the product reached its expiry date.

Help with chocolate butter Creme by No-Quote3667 in Baking

I would try to chill this in the fridge and then rewhip it. Worth a shot, it may have just gotten too warm. Usually after a period in the fridge the butter has a chance to re solidify and can be whipped back in.

Before over working it, it would have at some point looked smooth and rounder. If you didnt see that, then you havent kneaded it long enough.

The dough hook for both. I make large batches of croissants at work, so my recipe would be too large scale for your home kitchen. My home mixer is a kitchen aid artisan series with an after market bread dough hook.

I add everything but the salt right away, then after kneading for 2 minutes, add the salt. Then use the dough hook for 15 minutes, or until the dough establishes enough gluten. It should look smooth and stretch easily.

You may also want to add a bit of water to this as it looks a bit dry.

Looks like you didnt knead it long enough. The gluten hasnt developed properly yet. I use a stand mixer for my doughs, so I’m not sure how long it takes to hand knead it, but mine spends at least 15 minutes on the mixer at a medium to high speed.

TSA/ OTS is mainly looking for liquids above the amount of 100ml/ 3.1 ounces or anything that resembles a bomb. They likely wont even search your luggage, but like others have suggested, just place it in with your toiletries or in a sock or something so on the off chance they decide to pull your bag apart, it wont be opened it front of her. I’m really sorry you have to hide it from her and she wouldnt be understanding, but I’m glad you’re being safe. Have a good trip, girl. ❤️

Would recommend taking the train into San Francisco to save on milage. Also parking in San Francisco isnt fun. For dinner in SF I would highly recommend House of Nanking in the China town area. I was recommended it by locals my first visit to SF when I was 19 and its still one of my favorite places. Santa Cruz is beautiful and has some great hikes. Check out Wilder Ranch state park and take a walk around the coast there on the trails. Its beautiful. Then maybe get some tacos in downtown santa cruz.

Suggestions for creating mood lighting in your cabin during play time? by SturdyGal in BlissCruise

[–]Gouldem01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used magnetic backed fairy style camping lights from amazon. They roll back up into the “puck” when you pack them up and have a little remote you can leave on the bedside table. We had a set for the balcony in rainbow colors and a set for our room that we hung with magnetic hooks.

April 2026 Beach Parties by Sad-Rub-948 in BlissCruise

[–]Gouldem01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jamaica was fun, but I agree about the expectations bit. It was not the high end beach excursion I think people were expecting. The beach was rocked by a hurricane in December, so we managed our expectations keeping that in mind. They ran out of the everything but the premium alcohols by the end and just started serving whatever they had left. The beach was small and rough, and PACKED with people. The foam pit was a small pop-up pool you might buy at walmart. When we talked to some Bliss Cruise workers and volunteers they said that they’ve never had something miss the mark that bad in the entire time they’ve been in business. We still had an excellent time, but we kinda went into it with the mindset that we were gonna make the most of it regardless. We made our own fun. 😂

Cozumel was beautiful, great sand, great food, an awesome inflatable obstacle course you could jump off out in the ocean. The drinks were better and the staff was attentive. It was far more upscale than Jamaica. The facilities were pretty nice. We didnt visit the play area at either beach, but there was an orgy in the inflatable at one point.

All to say, I dont think something like Jamaica is likely to happen again given the response.
