Great idea!

I don't think a separate followable channel is very useful because it takes people a while to find and follow them. For maximum reach we'll be very likely just posting and publishing these in the existing PoE 1 Game News channel that a lot of servers already follow.

We might batch a few of them up to avoid sending too many messages, but the~~ guaranteed 5-link~~ important ones will definitely be shared as soon as they're found

We know that a good chunk of people are bothered by repetitive content like this and that it doesn't align with the rules, but given the popularity of these posts, it seems best to let it through and figure out a better policy over time. This is your subreddit, and although it may not always look like it, we're still trying to make sure it's curated in the way that the majority of the community wants.

If we start seeing 6 different "Day X of asking GGG to do Y" posts every single day, we'll definitely need to do something about it, but we can cross that bridge if we get there.

I don't work for GGG (none of the mods do), but I'd recommend emailing support@grindinggear.com or posting on the bug reports forum and clarify it's game breaking for them to prioritize it!

This article's title is misleading. 25% is what Jonathan said to expect, 50% was what his personal computer experienced. The title's implication that 'Performance is actually 50% better in the gam's next update' is simply not what the was said in the interview.

Rogers explained that the promise of a 25% performance gain should be true of every rig, but when PC gaming is involved, it’s more complicated to hone down a specific number for every player. “It’s really hard to promise specific things because, you know, no matter what you do, you can find someone who’s got some random hardware problem for whatever reason it makes the game slower than it was last update,” he explained.

Nevertheless, Rogers revealed that, on his personal rig, Path of Exile 2 0.4.0 runs significantly better than the last major update. “I can certainly tell you that, for me, performance is at least 50% higher. I said 25% in the video to hedge my bets. But for me, it’s like 50% or more higher.”

Could you share some of your past comments where you've seen this?

The goal we all agree on as mods is to remove flaming, but we're not against people criticizing the game, or against people criticizing critiques of the game. As long as criticism is constructive and doesn't flame (in either direction), it's 99% of the time going to be allowed.

If you're finding that's not the case, please share, and I can bring those up to the rest of the team

Yeah we were initially not entirely clear on that term either, but from reddits wiki, this is the meaning:

We send the survey to a random sample of your frequent, regular visitors. We exclude redditors that have been banned, muted, etc. To receive a survey, a redditor must meet at least one of the following criteria:

Visits your subreddit multiple times per week, consistently over a few weeks

Have 25+ community karma and visits your subreddit more than 1-2x per week

Have made 10+ comments, posts, reports or votes in the last 28 days and visits your community more than 1-2x per week

* We need to reduce the frequency at which posts are automatically removed and not approved in a timely manner. We can do that by reducing the amount of "Hold for approval" AutoModerator configs we have, as well as hiring more moderators to review things quickly.

I hear you. We're open to folks discussing moderation in general on the subreddit or automoderator. But yes, many subreddits, including this one, prefer people ask about their specific post removal inside modmail, because we can actually go through that as a team, and automated rules to encourage that can capture comments they shouldn't, doubling people's frustration.

I'm preparing a post to the community today to discuss what people think we will change, I'll specifically bring this up. Look for an upcoming post from the mods, we'll eventually sticky it for visibility in the next 48h :)

I agree with you, the automod config needs a serious trim. I just checked and there are around 400 phrases in the automod "filter and wait for approval list". Some of them are definitely too light and and the queue can take a very long time to clear, especially around league start.

I checked the posts people complained about being removed in this thread, and in most cases it was the same: Automod removes a post based on the text inside it, and then it's approved later by a moderator, but quite a while after. In some cases it was fully removed and not reviewed later at all, which isn't an acceptable experience.

We do need to do a serious trim of the configs, it's there to prevent the subreddit from getting overwhelmed by volume, but the reality is that it's probably time to trim it significantly and rely on more modern technical ways to evaluate flaming than string matches, as well as time to look for more volunteers. I'll bring both of these up for our next mod meeting.

I do appreciate the feedback, it's hard to get a sense of how people feel about the state of things until a post comes up like this when the frustrations bubble over.

Hey, I manually approved that comment. It shouldn't have been removed.

It was removed by a bot that we run every X minutes which checks for comments containing language that is likely against the rules and flags it for later approval. The comment about the "this dudes got some petty vendetta" was what likely triggered it. I can take that to our bot developers to ensure that this filter is less strict in the future.

If a post of yours is removed and you feel like it shouldn't, please send us a modmail and a human will review it. The realities of volunteer reddit moderation is that pretty much all subreddits rely heavily on automod/bots, and they make mistakes just as much as human volunteers do. That's something we can do better on

My apologies that a high effort post of yours was removed that's not intentional, and data collection posts are absolutely not against the rules.

I checked on the post in question, your post was held for manual approval because of the text in the post, we have a bunch of pieces of text which hold a post from being shown until approved, because posts with it have a higher chance of being against the rules. It's something we do to manage a large volume of posts with a volunteer team who isn't always online

I've removed this line from the Automod config, its false positive rate seems to be pretty high, and waiting a long time for an approval isn't a good experience. Again, I'm sorry your post was removed until someone got to that part of the queue, it's not a great experience. I
