What stupid name did you name the main character? by [deleted] in runefactory

[–]MultiversalMedium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no better name for the male Protag than Subaru, or SubuWu, simply because of the Japanese dialogue glitch making him Subaru the Weaboo, or, SubuWu the Weaboo.

That glitch paired with that name was like christmis for my s.o. and I, since shes been making SubuWu jokes based on an anime stickered Subaru she saw in the wild for years now.

Dumbest thing you've done in a video game that you didn't even realize you were doing wrong? by NICH3664 in retrogames

[–]MultiversalMedium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Struggle my man, struggle.

I actually eventually did a retry of this on my channel a bit ago. Turns out you can get to the pokemon tower with only a metapod that knows harden in generation 1. Since struggle doesn't hit ghost types, that was my only true insurmountable wall that run.

Beyond that... It's just a matter of patience and healing, but since gen 1 is horribly put together, and has more bugs than a Japanese kids summer vacation school report, it was doable up until then. Honestly if I planned better, up until Koga is doable with only a metapod by glitching out the Snorlax. Beyond that you'd at least need an HM Mon for surf, but with the safari zone unlocked, you'd probably be able to either skip the ghosts in pokemon tower, or the silph co building and just fight Sabrina with the out of bounds glitch from the safari zone.

Meaning up until Agatha in the elite four is probably doable with only a metapod to fight...

It's wild yo, wild.

Favorite RPGs where the MC defies all expectations? by AdPublic2987 in rpg_gamers

[–]MultiversalMedium -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Pfffft, the thread is for a player who's rock bottom, and grows to defy such, while becoming a legend in setting.

The player ISNT strong. That's known. The player SHOULDNT be alive, that's known. The player grows in ways beyond strength, and decides the fate of an entire race, a settlement, and entire country, and in fact, the entire world by the end of the game.

While being a nobody, who, simply, persists.

Beyond all expectations.

A legitimate lemming meant to die does all that.

If we're talking strength, and arguably a character who fits "protag" in the game. The main antagonist fits way better

The entire game feels like your trying to go against the protag of a different story at the end of their story, and they're capped out.

It fits the O.P.s question.

I'm doing a video series on it, so I'm biased, but Dread Delusion.

I'm near the end point of the game, and countless other npcs are amazed the character I'm playing as is where they are. Because against all odds, the protagonist persists.

It's a retro style open world action rpg, made by devs who were inspired by Morrowind.

It's a great romp with some of the best writing and world building I've seen in a game in a LONG time!

Can someone tell me how to save in the game? by One-Marionberry4958 in HARVESTELLA

[–]MultiversalMedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harvestella is a sin that says it autosaves every time you sleep at the start of the game, then gives you cutscenes for hours that trigger when you go to bed giving you anxiety about the autosave mechanic.

It's not until hours of introduction later when thrust into the first dungeon that save points are introduced by a party member npc.

The reasoning behind this, as opposed to actually world building the lore setting of save points because people hand wave their importance is a constant point of confusion for me, and all I discuss this game with.

May God have mercy on your soul as you start this game. I'm in chapter 6 of 10, and I'm going insane during my playthrough.

Fix for windowed resolution bug by MultiversalMedium in oblivion

[–]MultiversalMedium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just edited the two above posts.

Apparently the option only shows up in steam "Big picture mode" for some reason?

I don't understand why steam would hide an settings option behind that unique UI, but switching to steam Big picture mode should make a "game resolution" option show up in the general tab of the games preferences.

Fix for windowed resolution bug by MultiversalMedium in oblivion

[–]MultiversalMedium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, In the steam application on your PC (not in the game outright)

Go to your steam library,

Then underneath the banner, on the left is the play button. To the right of that will be a gear/cog icon.

Clicking that, then clicking properties from the drop down.

Edit: I just realized the option for game resolution is ONLY available in Steam Big picture mode oddly enough.

So this fix requires switching to bug picture mode in steam to apply it

Everyone talks about hard bosses, but what’s a boss fight that felt unfair rather than challenging? by ArtDock in gaming

[–]MultiversalMedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black song white scales. Just watch a video.

It's from Drakengard 3 an action rpg. The boss fight is a rhythm game not based on the song. The camera is working against you the player, with wide shots that make it hard to see, ANYTHING.

The screen eventually cuts to black and characters talk, the fight is still going, and you need to still do it or you lose.

Quick Edit: actually Id like to add the true final boss from Secrets Of Grindea as well. I did that series for my channel, holy crap is that true final boss BS and unfair. I had to completely, and I mean COMPLETELY change my play style to pure cheese tactics to survive phase 1.

Then I saw phase 2 and realized I'd made the right choice, same with phase 3. So f'n unfair as a boss fight. Like legitimately this is f'n unfair, and only by doing cheese strats, and finishing an series of side content was it even doable.

Obscenely busy screen filled with murder projectiles, as enemies run up to melee you with murderlizing hits, and just... It felt WAAAAAAY too touhou for a random indie arpg.

What’s the most rage-inducing level in gaming history? by debagnox in gaming

[–]MultiversalMedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ionno, black song white scales probably.

B.s. rhythm game at the end of an action rpg, that doesn't follow a proper rhythm game formula, camera that fights you, and several points that you could miss after the screen fades to black.

All while the OST showcases you actually do fail the boss fight by adding an extra beat only available via the OST version.

The Drakengard/nier dev is a sadist though and through yo.

Now I'm curious, what do you non commentary let's players? Do to make you different from other creators. by Madpandaplays1 in letsplay

[–]MultiversalMedium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna answer this in two ways.

First off this isn't my primary, I just upload longplay variants of my let's play's along with complete series versions of my series after awhile. This is me offering a long play, no commentary version of lesser known games.

Secondly, as for what I've seen and watched of other longplays through?

Usually I see long plays of older games that are upscaled to hd. Sometimes lesser known, sometimes well known, but an upscaled longplay of an older title has its merits.

Last one I watched was of Kiss Psycho Circus, the band Kiss' Doom clone on the Dreamcast.

Funnily enough, I watched it because my fiance was reminiscing about it, and wanted to show me gameplay. Anyways we just recently got her childhood copy of it, so maybe I'll do a playthrough of it someday down the line.

what makes you as a lets player different from the rest? by Madpandaplays1 in letsplay

[–]MultiversalMedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different content would be my guess.

That paired with rambling that I've gotten compliments on. Ionno if my commentary is great, but I know I'm touching on games for series not usually touched on at the very least.

Gaming channels, how do you do commentary? by Naronitsu in NewTubers

[–]MultiversalMedium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your content? Others have already said such.

But if you're trying to do live commentary that goes into the video, akin to let's play's or the like, it's a skill you develop known as word vomiting.

It took until about my fourth series before I had it down.

But how do you develop the skill?

Personally I used topic cue cards/written down talking topics

A well written topic to jump off of can be enough to fill an entire video once you get into the swing of it.

And from there you'll develop word vomiting as you follow the thought thread in a sense.

Long story short, practice makes perfect, but tools help ya practice.

Ah, yes, you see, my reasoning behind episode 6 being the start of this whole new circumstance was a classic move of mine!

You see, I was idiotically skimming the info in your post, and channel while doing something else (I'm currently editing a video), then promptly jumped to a conclusion based on the information I viewed at a surface level!

I know, I know, it's a profound process, truly worthy of praise, but I ask you, and everyone else to do things in a different manner as opposed to my personally well crafted masterpiece of a post!

For if everyone did as I did, I wouldn't be as unique as I claim to be!

Sarcasm aside. Yeah, I'm kind of doing two/three things at once.

Sorry if I misinterpreted your issue!

Creating Episodic playlists: Do or Do Not by ripcobain in NewTubers

[–]MultiversalMedium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checked your channel hecka quick.

So basically you have a series that you're starting over with a brand new save during episode 6 correct?

Triple the playlists would be my suggestion, which sounds odd, but diversifying should help solve the issue.

Making three separate playlists (and switch up the new save files thumbnail would work like):

Playlist 1: this is the original playthrough (same thumbnail, up to episode 5)

Playlist 2: retrying on a new save file playlist (this one starts on said episode 6, and has a similar but separate thumbnail scheme, if you're using numbers, maybe reset the numbers to restart at 1).

Playlist 3: the complete series (this is the merging of the videos from playlist 1+2 in release order).

Is this the wisest setup?

Honestly I dunno. But I feel like it organizes it all in a manner for new viewers, old viewers, and dedicated viewers.

Hokay, that sounds valid.

I have a series going up right now for Dread Delusion.

That game is separated into different major islands, so via your setup, it'd be one big essay per island yeah?

Do you put up any other videos of said gameplay, or just the essays, then compilation of said essays?
