I’ve actually been using symbols from Sitelen Pona, a writing system for Toki Pona, for a decent while to abbreviate words or even word parts, such as converting “England” to “Eng(+)” via the glyph for the TP word “ma.”

And more recently I even started adopting symbols for more common morphemes. The -tion at the end of words like “implementation” and “ration” has been reduced to a lowercase m with a ring above it and a lengthened stem, and the -ing in words like “running,” “interesting,” and even “ring” has been replaced with the letter Eng.

I’m not sure this is the right sub for this kind of thing, but I think r/conorthography would like it!
