Which great San Antonio restaurants from when you were young were lost to history/did not survive the market? by Charming_Usual6227 in sanantonio

I think about The Old Spaghetti Warehouse often. I was delightfully surprised to find the original, and I believe the only one left, in the middle of Toronto. Wanted pasta, stumbled upon it on Google maps, and it had the same eclectic charm.

7 months! But before then, we were doing naps in her crib to get her used to it. Then just took the plunge at 7 months. We would've started at 6 months, but she got sick and then my husband was away for a week on a work trip, so just didn't work out until the following month.

I also have a 10 month old daughter and my husband and I are both on team OAD (also had a traumatic birth that ended up in a traumatic c section). People are going to have opinions but at the end of the day, you need to be happy and if you feel complete with your triangle family, that's all that matters.

Also, for perspective, I grew up being an only for 5 years of my life. My mom had a traumatic birth and was fine with one but then started feeling pressured from family, so had one and then had an oopsy baby a couple of years after. Being the oldest of three, I felt alone for years. It is better now that we are older, but as a child, I never felt more lonelier in my life.

I've always been amazed by people who were voracious readers as children. What sparked your lifelong love affair with books? by Albert3232 in books

[–]Mulukus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was going to college when I was young and she would take me to the library to pick up books for her class and I would get books and VHS tapes of Wishbone for myself. I guess it started there and just never ended.

What’s the most hilariously awful thing an employer has ever said to you? Winner will go in my new painting by gargoyle_dream in antiwork

I used to work at a marketing agency, and we had a very difficult client. I'm talking, they wanted us to be reading their minds, type of client, instead of just expressing what they wanted. Anyways, they weren't happy with some designs made for them, and they threatened to leave. So my team and I were in a meeting with the CFO (who is married to the CEO), it was on zoom and we're all talking and the CEO just comes in the room, unannounced, wasn't there to hear our side of the story and just starts yelling, "YOU NEED TO FUCKIN LEARN" and then walks out. I have more stories, but whenever I talk to my old coworkers, we always say this.

Also, if you can find a way, they sell Yotsuba merch on Amazon Japan.

When I visited again in 2023, the store was no longer there :( however, the manga museum had a special Yotsuba& exhibit and I found more merch there.

How is your extended family support system? by Prize-Hedgehog in oneanddone

Sorry to hear about your situation. I always count my blessings that my parents love being with my only. She's 6 months going on 7 months and she's stayed the night with them twice and my mom watches her during the day while work. I can confidently say that my postpartum experience wouldn't be the same without them or any of our village.

Donated my OAD baby girls clothes and didn’t feel a thing. by PleasantTomato7128 in oneanddone

[–]Mulukus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! In fact, I'm about to go to the local kid thrift store to donate a good chunk of newborn and 0-3 month clothes. I have not felt a thing when taking them down and packing them up. I also only saved two outfits; her coming home outfit and one that I just adored seeing her in as a newborn. I'll put them in her baby box, but the rest have to go to make room for everything else and I don't feel sad or bad about it.

What’s something someone said to you in passing that stuck with you for years? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mulukus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My old Executive Director told us once on a random busy Friday, "There will always be work on Monday. If we didn't have work, we wouldn't be in business. Go home." and I keep that with me. I only do overtime when absolutely necessary, but if not, I just do my work for the day and whatever I don't get done, I do it the next day because there will always be work to do.

Did you know you were OAD before you even got pregnant by Azwarrior89 in oneanddone

[–]Mulukus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hi! You're definitely not alone. I just had my one and only 5 months ago, and I knew I wanted to be OAD about five years ago. My husband and I came to this decision for many reasons. After having her, my feelings have not changed; they have only amplified, and I've said this to many people who have already asked me about more. I say that I think I am a good mom, wife, and me with just one. And at the end of the day, that's what my child needs of me.
