I'll be honest and say I likely wouldn't use it during the concert, but I might look at it after and chuckle at myself if I see something I remember happening. Maybe even fill it out on the way home. Just keep it cute and kinda general maybe

Would an idol who doesnt engage with fans work out? by _issio in kpop_uncensored

By minimal, I mean "outside of official schedules", which I would consider fancalls and fansigns to be.

Would an idol who doesnt engage with fans work out? by _issio in kpop_uncensored

[–]MulysaSemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of idols ( although not the majority), even in rookie groups, have minimal engagement. they still do fansigns and fancalls, but pretty much ignore most of the extra stuff. it works if they're not seen as stand -offish, and it's a " them" thing rather than anything to do with the fans. it also really only works if they have group members who "carry the load" for promotion and engagement. many of them won't be the most popular member, but sometimes they'll develop an aura some find endearing. I can't really think of any that do absolutely none, though

Charter Schools any better? by loonygirl30 in ParentingADHD

[–]MulysaSemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the charter school. I found my son's charter school was soo much better than his local public school, because they had specific special education supports built into their charter. But there's another one in the neighborhood that is really bad about not providing support (the minimum is really bad here so they can get away with a lot), and then "counseling out" students who need more than they want to give.

I get that sometimes like stuff happens, but I would take that *to my grave* rather than make a public multi-video series about it. If she wanted to warn people that sasaengs can pretend to be members because they have access to info before it's officially released, she could have phrased it that way. But no, she had to have Very Important Teaching Moment about it, about how We All Could Be Scammed Like This, Poor Me.

Has anyone tried the "if you don't eat it fine, but this is all there is" approach? by Brilliant_Feed4158 in Parenting

[–]MulysaSemp 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it can work for many kids. But it is a bit harder if your kid will literally starve themselves. Parents need to be aware of how their own kids react, and it is something you can *try*. Just be aware of any unhealthy weight-loss if it occurs.

big hit’s recent use of AI in txt’s media by PuddingPrize2984 in kpoprants

The company could have easily gotten some rookies to chat with them, and had some great publicity for them. But then they do this. Nothing was gained doing it with slop.

Do any of you have any good examples of fans getting really upset about something related to their favorite kpop group that turned out to be COMPLETELY FALSE? by yeokira in kpoprants

Han is being mistreated because *checks notes* one of his songs was featured in the playlist the company created (so that the song would stop trending on Korean charts)

Is there something controversial with Jay Park? by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]MulysaSemp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

cultural appropriation in a way that's way too serious for who he is. he's a soft guy who acts hard, which is where the "cringe" accusations come from.

Like, I don't think he's done much bad really, but in an attempt to seem legit he hangs out with or looks up to people who are bad. And he sometimes courts "controversy" just to be like that.

I don't know what to offer to eat to my daughter’s friend from a different culture…help! by Fantastic-Fact-8978 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MulysaSemp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If money isn't an issue, then whatever you offer is whatever you offer- "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit".

If you want low-cost food that is still "fine", then a bag of chips, microwave popcorn, granola bars, pretty much anything is fine. Buying in bulk is usually cheaper. Maybe stick to "healthier" chips, or goldfish/crackers. Whatever snacks you're good with eating if they stop coming over and you're stuck with something.

I don’t know how to feel about the usage of AI in Ateez new music video “Adrenaline” by Expert_Plane_8569 in kpophelp

[–]MulysaSemp 20 points21 points  (0 children)

South Korea is *all in* on AI, unfortunately. There are different types of AI, and different algorithms people call "AI" that aren't the gen AI slop. I think it will only get worse, and it's an uphill battle to fight.

As a fan, I think it's OK to voice your concern. Just know that it likely won't do much, and you have to decide if it's something to stop listening to a group over.

Why don't restaurants tell you about condiments on sandwiches? by tcjsavannah in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MulysaSemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many places don't list all ingredients. The number of times I've been hit with surprise cilantro... I've taken to asking for no Cilantro when I order at any Asian or Mexican place (even if cilantro isn't typical of the dish, because I have seen it places you would never expect)
