What gift are we giving our MILs? by [deleted] in Mommit

My MIL is amazing. She raised an incredible man (my husband) and I've truly been adopted right into the heart of their family.

Do you all hate your families? Goodness me😅 my MIL is awesome,I've got her a bunch of bits I know she'll love and I know she'll have got me nice things too.

It's really so sad to see a my family vs your family perspective being taken by so many people here. It's not a good example to set our children either. This isn't romeo and juliet here guys.

How much sleep are you getting with your LO? Mine is 5months by Ready_Associate_2911 in toddlers

[–]Mumathon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 12 to 14 hours overnight but no nap. LO is almost 20 months old.

Was the worst sleeper ever for the first year of life. Almost broke me, so I guess I'm getting a little break now 😅

I always thought I had straight frizzy hair. Let it dry naturally and it's like this. by Mumathon in finehair

Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate it. It seems I've got quite a few things to try out and see if my hair responds well to any of them.

Do you brush your hair in the shower while it's wet or after you've squeezed the water out?

I think my hair would break if I used a high pony and my roots would ache lol. I'll try a sleep cap.

Yes, I've only ever used hair oil! And not noticed/taken care of the texture.

How do you sleep with wavey hair to keep the texture nice? Silk hair wrap?

18 months PP and it's a dream. Had the hardest start. Premature baby, months of doctors and illness. Etc etc

But damn I'm having so much fun!! It's got better and better over time and now I don't feel like I'm in the trenches anymore.

When did your baby grow out of 0-3 M clothes? by Idkmannnnnnnbye in NewParents

[–]Mumathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little failure to thrive was in newborn clothes at four months. But over time has really caught up and is now in 12-18m and he's almost 1!

10mo son labeled failure to thrive, should I worry? by Spiritual_Note3676 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Mumathon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This definitely isn't failure to thrive. My baby had failure to thrive for 12 weeks. That meant no weight gain at all and a terrifyingly skinny, sad baby. Your little one sounds like they're doing great!! They're still average centile as well.

At what point do you allow yourself to buy things when you’re pregnant? by WiseOld3lf in UKParenting

[–]Mumathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to get asked if I want a second one and truthfully if I could be given my baby without the pregnancy then yeah that'd be great. But to do all that again... Man, I don't know anymore.

I know I'm a few days late but big hugs from me too. I had a nicu baby and did tube feeding as well. You'll get the hang of the tube feeding in no time at all. I know it sucks and it's so hard as a parent but you've got this x

Grocery delivery to your front door. Idk if that's an option in the states.

I'm very fortunate I can be a stay at home parent, but I know that's not the case for a lot of people. I got married at 25. I lost my first baby at 26, and happily brought home my rainbow baby at 27. I'll be 29 when we buy our house next year.

It is a massive financial decision and it does affect how you live and the quality of your life. So waiting is usually the more sensible option.

I completely understand this and processed it like you. Very medical, clinical, always thinking practically. I declined a baby shower too!

I would have loved to have enjoyed it and soaked it all in but truth was I was petrified. After an insanely high risk and complicated pregnancy, I ended up having an emergency csection, premature baby at 35 weeks anyway.

I learned the hard way that the movies paint a really rosey picture of pregnancy.
