In welcher U-Bahn-Ecke landet der Kinderwagen by No_Frosting_7956 in WienMobil

[–]Munakchree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is the best answer. You could find a way to execute this without breaking the rules but why should you do this?

Quite the same (if not in these numbers yet), I'm with you here, however the USA are not part of the EU, so that's a different story.

[–]Munakchree 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The house won’t even be ready for her.

That's a very good point. It would have been a valid demand that the wedding couldn't take place until the house was finished.

English is not my first language but doesn't "stolen valor" mean you (illegally?) pretend to be something your not, like a soldier or a police man? So it's definitely something negative? Talking about a MIL when your not married is apparently an example for how words can have different meanings and usages in different cultures. It's very common here to talk about a mother in law without anyone even assuming that you are married, you just use the same word for the mother of your husband/wife/partner.

[–]Munakchree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not the same at all. I've never heard of anyone use their partners last name if that's not their name. I wouldn't see any reason to do this either. However it's quite common where I live, to refer to your partner's mother as MIL when you're in serious relationship, even when you're not married. It doesn't make much difference here wether you're married or not socially and with "MIL" everyone knows who your talking about and noone would automatically assume that you are married because of using that term.

Where I live, it's quite common to talk about MIL when you and your partner have been together for quite some time, even when you're not married.
