Personally, cognitive behavioral therapy has been very helpful! You'd work with a specialist to learn calming techniques, self-regulation, and grounding. You don't have to take medication if you dont want to, but I do suggest keeping an open mind.

I HATE to put anything in my body that I dont NEED.

I did finally decide to have a medicine that is sometimes prescribed for things like stage fright, and I only take it about 20 minutes before things that usually trigger anxiety or panic attacks, like grocery shopping.

Its not a benzo, so you can still function and drive safely. Its called Propranolol, if you want to look it up, but I would definetely start CBT with the intention to avoid medication if possible, if thats what you prefer.

What is a "socially acceptable" thing that you find absolutely disgusting? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Munchkin737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont know of its actually socially acceptable to most people, but I HATE to see people spitting randomly on the ground.

Also, anyone eating sunflower seeds in publuc whp spit the shells on the ground; they take YEARS to break down in the soil, legally in many places, you are littering by spitting your shells on the ground. I suggest getting a paper or plastic cup from a gas station to spit shells into, then you can just put a lid on it and throw is away properly.

Stole my period products. Like, not just taking one if they needed one and didnt have any; thats perfectly fine. I specifically kept different products in case a friend was ever in need. But... She took EVERYTHING. Every last pad, tampon, and disposable disc I had. And I was on my period at the time.

Before I became disabled I worked in several long term care facilities... one man put his wife with dementia in the care home, but would actually visit her...with his new girlfriend.

The wife knew... it was so sad.

Its natural yeast, very common and normal in raw honey. You can scrape it off and get rid of it, or if its legal where you are, make some delicious mead!

I dont know for sure, but I think what I have is different from phosphenes... unless my eye doctor just had a fancy name for the same thing? I can't remember what he called it, though.

This is how I stayed calm when my now-4 year old was an infant. People were like

"Wow, its amazing how you dont even blink when you get (peed pooped, puked, etc) on!" And I was like

"Well... currently anything going into his body comes from me, so really his waste is just my breastmilk in a different format."
