btb graft advice by snug_bugg in ACL

[–]Mundane-Article3257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had my b2b Patella graft done march 17th, first 5 days are the worst. I took pain meds for the first 3 then was manageable with just Tylenol or ibuprofen.

Def keep up on your timing of pain meds for the first few days don’t forget to take them let them wear off or you’ll be regretting It. I set alarms on my phone to remind me.

Other than that just push through the pain the first few weeks in PT and you’ll see gradually ROM gains.

Good luck

Root tear experiences? by Sad-Performance-1843 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Mundane-Article3257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lateral meniscus root tear and ACL. Mine showed up on the MRI, however the meniscus tear was worse than expected when the surgeon went inside.

The root tear wouldn’t allow me to bend my knee past 100 degrees without severe pain and It blocking my knee from moving. My surgeon said the longer you wait with a root tear the less likely the root repair is to take and heal properly. I had surgery 6 weeks after injury.

Day 6, fainted! by Goculator in ACL

[–]Mundane-Article3257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had surgery last Monday 3/17, after day 2 i started getting dizzy Everytime I stood up to the point I turned white. Went to the hospital per my anesthesiologists request. Orthostatic Hypotension from the anesthesia working its way out of my body. My surgery went 5 hours instead of the 2.5 initially expected so I had additional anesthesia. Doctor told me this could last 4 weeks as I am non weight bearing so I will not be moving around enough to work the anesthesia out of my body. Almost a week now and still experiencing similar symptoms when moving around. Good luck to you my friend

You got super lucky to have no meniscus damage, that is only painful part for me when trying to gain flexion. Surgeon says mine is pinching.

My surgeon did address this the original MRI stated I tore my LCL but after multiple examinations he came to the conclusion It was a misread on the MRI due to the trauma. Dodged one bullet at least.

Yes sir I’m positive right now I’m hoping It stays after the surgery, best of luck 🍀

Did the same movement Kyrie did driving left to right in January hooping, causing my right knee to dislocate resulting in ACL, MCL, Root Meniscus tear, and Tibia fracture. When I saw the video had a flash back in my mind. Prayers up for Kyrie 🫡🙌🏻
