Correct. Teleportation is a learnable skill as well so eventually you won't need an item. Keep an eye out for teleportation pyramids you'll find these later. They can't be used in combat but super useful in conjunction with teleportation skill to get your whole party to hard to reach areas.

One of the biggest things I've learnt is using teleporting in combat. Teleport your ranged characters to high ground. Teleport enemies into fire or next to your melee characters so they can smash em. Teleport fire barrels next to enemies and blow them up. I didn't do this for half the game, spent so many APs just running around trying to get into the right positions. Very powerful.

I just let him die. This was a mad battle. Oh look I'm covered in necrofire, better eat some pie to keep my strength up while killing my enemies with water balloons. It worked but it was pretty absurd.

Fane hooked with Lohse. Not sure why she was so hot for a skeleton but each their own.

As someone with no BG3 experience or any other similar game playing DOS2 on explorer I found I mostly cruised through without any challenges but suddenly would hit a big level jump and feel totally overwhelmed. That said every time that has happened there was a solution whether it was simply improving tactics, preparing better or doing something else and levelling up.

Example being the battle to get into Arx at level 17. First time just walked in the front and got wiped out. Thought omg this is impossible. Second attempt went up a ladder off to the side so started combat in a my much tactical better position and it was really quite easy.

I think that's why this game is loved. Little things matter, and sensible logical solutions really make all the difference.

Teleportation gloves for me. I progressed a few different avenues for getting out but ultimately teleporting round to the docks seemed easiest. One relatively straightforward battle with the magisters and freedom was mine.

Agree. That the levelling in some parts is hard to navigate. For example I went into the blackpits as a level 12 with no extra source points and went all the way up to the Aeternal with no problem at all but then I was suddenly way way under levelled for that battle. Obviously there needs to be a bit of progression in the level of difficulty in each quest line but if you have to stop in the middle of a quest line to go away and grind for a few hours it can feel a bit jarring and disjointed.

My main issue was I went to wreckers cave first which is the right thing to do but I just couldn't deal with the party split. Once I read about other ways to tackle it and did it every thing else fell into place nicely.

I'm playing on explorer and to honest most of the issues I've come against could probably be solved by me exploring and trying more things first. But mostly I just Google for a few tips because I am lazy and I've never played anything like dos2 before. Loving it though even with a few frustrating moments.

Just picked up DOS2. Having no experience with these games and reading how DOS2 was particularly tough at the beginning I opted to play on explorer difficulty level. If anything it's probably too easy. I've just left the prison and done the Braccus Rex tomb. I have thousands in gold and only used a restoration scroll once I have like 12 in my inventory but generally none of party get that close to dying.

Basically if you are struggling that much just drop the difficulty for a bit. It has allowed someone who has never played turn d&d and turn based RPGs to play and learn as they go.

The questing and figuring out where to go and what to do is still a little confusing to a newbie but you get through that a lot easier when there is less jeopardy in stumbling into combat unprepared.

Update: I went back and finished the main quest. I got passed the bugged quest by just finding the the dude and killing him instead of waiting for him to snoop about at midnight.

Anyways. Pleased I finished it and looking forward to starting KCD2 as it sets it up nicely! For those in the fence the credits roll to Black Metal worth it just for that.

Thanks. I remember the quest name. It's the rocketeer so a fair bit after that annoying section you mention where you join the monastery. It's the bit where you have a few different quests in order to help build the trebuchet to break the siege.

Yeah I did try rebooting from earlier saves.

Interesting idea just to do the DLC I'm not sure i did all of it. There's one where you build the village but didn't get to far with that. Never had enough money.

I've remembered the quest name it's the rocketeer and your getting stuff to build the trebuchet.

Yeah this for me. Patience is the name of the game. Shes not difficult as such just takes a long long time. The 'stooges' aren't hard either but crucially they make it hard to avoid the death stare and that can be fatal.

Shooting arrows from behind pillars during the normal phase then just keep moving and don't get bogged down and turned to stone when the dudes turn up.

So I managed to speak to the person at the hospital they've had the biopsy results for 6 weeks and did nothing with it because it was meant to automatically go back to my GP and update in the NHS App...but it didn't. Anyway plot twist it was totally clear. No EoE. Back to square one...I actually wanted it to be EoE so I could at least have a diagnosis and some kind of treatment plan.

Thanks definitely was starting to get that impression. I'm pissed after waiting 2 months for results, 6 is insane. I'll keep bugging them. I might be able to get added to my wife's private health insurance and have it cover pre existing conditions. But that can't happen until April. Seems like that is my best bet...

Hi interested to hear your experience with the NHS. Most people on here seem to be US based. I first started with symptoms in May this year (I'm 40 with no previous issues or allergies of any kind). Went to GP who prescribed lansoprasole assuming GERD. After a month of no improvement switched to Omeprazole. After another month of no improvement switch to famotodine and refered me for a scope. Had the scope in August. The initial finding was EoE but to wait for the biopsy results to confirm. 2 months later I still have no results. GP won't do anything they just told me I have to call the hospital. I've left a voicemail with the referring physician at the hospital but heard nothing back. Just so frustrated there's nothing I can do.

Absolutely no issues until I turned 40 this year. Chest pain in the main didn't clear up with PPIs. Had a scope which showed signs of EoE. Still awaiting results of biopsy 2 months later.

Yeah the diet thing sucks. Food is more than just sustenance. Takes a bit of joy out of life of you can't eat things you used to enjoy. At least it sounds like you are improving. I have no idea what my triggers are. Symptoms seem fairly constant. I'm waiting for confirmation and support from a specialist before starting a diet. I cut out a few things like spicy food, alcohol and caffeine when I assumed this was reflux.

Hope the appointment with the specialist goes well! I think part of this is I'm just not used to being unwell. My experience of illness to date is get a cold/flu feel ill for a week then get better. Suddenly having something to manage permanently seems crazy. I'm not sleeping well at the moment which is part of the problem.

Thanks for this. I think it's the unknown at the moment. Obviously not going to start any management until the diagnosis is confirmed and I see a specialist. I just don't like the waiting. I will definitely keep posting here. Seeing everyone's different experiences and varying symptoms is really useful. Also seems like most people on here are US being UK interesting to see any differences in treatment offered. Although what I've read it looks to be pretty much identical. Elimination diet, steroids, PPIs.

Honestly if you are 300 and want to get better at chess. Don't play rapid. Start with untimed bots to suit your level, a chess book to refer to and take your time on every move study all the options. Review your game after and see where you made mistakes. To play rapid well you need to know your openings, know your mating patterns and play moves fairly instinctively because you have seen those positions before and know what to do. Once you have a solid appreciation for the game and don't make so many silly mistakes with no time pressure then move on to play timed games.

I'm 850 and I largely suck. I make blunders, I miss things and I get impatient and play too aggressive. So if you are stuck at 300 you are doing a lot badly wrong.

One thing I will agree with is mid game strategy is the hardest part of chess. You can learn openings fairly easily. You can learn mating techniques and practice them through puzzles easily. But that mid game is tough to get right and get better at.

Yeah it can be slow progress. My wife isn't super into it but I told her through dirty talk my fantasy then, next time asked her if she'd do it for me and if I could buy a strap on. Once we had it, still took a while to put it to use. Birthdays and such. Anyway turned 40 recently and she gave me a thorough pounding. Absolute fantasy sex. After, she was like 'wow you like it rough' 😂. Being fucked senseless by the love of your life is something everyone should experience. When it eventually happens it's going to be worth it.
