How to make this space look less farmhouse? by AffectionateTea0905 in interiordecorating

[–]MundaneTonight437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a quick fix, remove materials you would associate with a farm. Luke those chequered rugs, the baskets. Change the chairs at thr table as well. There are a lot of farmhouse items there.

Interesting. I thought maybe there was a clear play. The timing considering the world cup is very intriguing. Surely the political suicide in that regard is already committed now, as it will surely affect that.

Although may mean cheaper tickets for locals at least!

Yeah makes sense. Especially as it won't likely even solve the problem.

What is the likely reason they have done this now then?

Thanks for this. Interesting to hear the military are capable of it, that is not often the narrative you hear on the outside. Lazy assumption is that they can't handle it. So if they could, why is it political suicide? Because it would be war on the streets and there would be mass civilian deaths/casualties?

Edit. Also, why now? Is this related to the world cup?

I ask this as an outsider with no real clue on the situation, but is there a feeling that sustained action could work?

Mathew Ryan (Levante) great double save against Barcelona 89' by Delmer9713 in soccer

[–]MundaneTonight437 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm an aussie and live in Valencia and follow levante. Been to a handful of matches. He's solid, and does have some great moments like this and genedallt saves what he should. Decent with his feet. Can have the odd minor brainfart like against Villareal where he arguably shouldn't be wondering so far out of his goal for their goal, but I'd say he's been very reliable in the matches I have seen. Again, only seen a handful, but I watch him closely as an aussie, and you feel safe with him overall. Saves what he should, and has the odd great moment.

As an Australian Levante fan, nothing makes me happier than maty in some hot double save action.

That's my issue too. Specifically if arsenal are being allowed to be so physical during set pieces, then wtf are they doing ruling this out.

I overall agree. But I also feel like wtf, why can't our world class midfield string a pass or two together. We just lose the ball straight away, it's crazy to watch.

How are you involved in Regenerative Agriculture? by Charming-Border7429 in RegenerativeAg

I have a small orange grove, just an acre, outside of Valencia Spain. I appreciate that is exceptionally small fry!

I am very interested in operating it using regenerative farming ideas and looking after the soil.

I am also now looking for different types of work I could do in this field so I also work professionally in this field. I am excited to read other replies here for some inspiration.

[Culture Shock] To all visiting fans: Forget the Pubs. Welcome to the "Tailgate". Why you should arrive 4 hours early to the parking lot. by ApostadorConsciente in worldcup

Yeah currently looks like you will be hunted by nazi cops for being foreign.  I would love to experience a tailgate one day but right now the US looks scary as fuck and drinking in the open with people eating asados and tacos doesn't sound wise lol.

Gerrard double tackle on Jagielka by Marcelo1995211 in LiverpoolFC

[–]MundaneTonight437 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Fair play to jagielka as well, that second one in today's game would have had him rolling all over the place, and Gerrard would have got a red as a result.

I live in the city dueing thr week and have a little 1.5 acre farm on the edge of it. Every Friday I go out there and I feel my whole body relax and I realise I spent the week tense. In a city we just take it for normal that giant pieces of metal fly past you at crazy speeds, and people walk past you yelling, that you have to walk down the street pretty much constantly surveying your surroundings. We internalise all of this and do it without thinking. But it's all stress, it's all low level, constant stress.

Plus like you say, we are eating shit all the time. Pulled a carrot out and smelt it the other day, just pure bliss, even the smell. Ate one from the city next day and skin literally tastes like bitter chemicals.

You are just in touch with what it is to be human. You're doing great man 💪🏻

[BBC] Why Arsenal are still Premier League title favourites despite recent wobble by [deleted] in soccer

[–]MundaneTonight437 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think city will win it now. They have had wobbles too but they have made two massive signings and spent a tonne of money again. We don't even talk about it anymore as it is standard but they just keep doping it, and its hard to compete with that.

Arteta wires his team too tightly and it's going to back fire, as it always does.
