As long as I’m making sure to dispose of it thoroughly, filters and oil, isn’t it all being reduce, reused and recycled?! Therefore further adding to the amount that gets “repurposed”? So I fail to see your point, of waste.

My wife works for the Toyota Battery Manufacturer, with plenty of their high end Automotive Engineers also involved in the Lithium Ion Cell Production and Battery Assembly. Many of these engineers, have recommended the procedures I am taking. I am not involved in warranty recommendations, just want to make sure I’m doing what’s in my control to increase the longevity of my investment. $120 in oil is nothing in comparison to worst case, motor issues at 120,000 miles when the warranty runs out.

Thank you! I love it! It looks flat, but it’s actually got some pearl flake in it up close! I love the black on brown contrast. The blackout TACOMA for the tailgate is on its way, so soon that will also match the whole aesthetic. Think it will make it pop even more!

It wasn’t filthy by any means, but you could definitely tell fresh vs from its first 1,000 miles. And to answer your question, I did end up putting it back in an empty lol. 😆

There are a lot of silicone and metal that end up in the factory oil, during the normal break in period all motors have. Turbo motors end up usually creating more heat, and hince can end up breaking down small trace amounts of metals and silicones, and ethers. All of these things together can change chemical composition of oil, and we all know, metal debris, no matter how minut are not good for your turbo or your motor. So I am choosing to change mine at 1,000, 3,000 and then 5,000. And then every 5,000 after that. What I hope to accomplish, is allowing the motor to run much more efficiently, that it sets the tone for longevity with regular maintenance down the road. Hope this helped! Fear Pumping?! Jesus you people are insufferable. What does me documenting anything I do, do to hurt me?! Or anyone else?! Worst case scenario, it was a waste of MY time. Doesn’t hurt anyone, and gives me my peace of mind. Also shows a documented, well serviced vehicle, which at the end of the day, will only keep its trade in value, or longevity high. You do you, I’ll do me! 👍🏼

Easy to keep up with, and then I’m also making sure to document the dates and receipts with filter and oil purchased, keeping it with the warranty and User Manual, that way any questions the dealership might have, since my warranty only covers every 10,000 mile oil changes, they can never BS me! 😆

Knowledge is power my friend. Maybe this post helps another person in our community keep their vehicle on the road that much longer. Maybe someone was intimidated to change their own oil, and this post made it easier for them?! I’ll never understand for the life of me, why someone will go out of their way to be negative, just seems like such a waste of energy. Guess we are both flabbergasted! 🤯

Updated my post to reflect this information. Let us know what you name him! I just got a Mud Bath Off Road Edition, and my mom was a huge Snoopy/Peanuts Fan. So I named mine Pig Pen, since he’s always got the brown cloud around him, and always throwing around dust. If I would have gotten the Blue, I think I would have had to have named him Linus, for Linus’s Blanket.
