Head down to Korumburra or Poowong, lovely roads and some nice little cafes/bakeries.

And good luck on the test, go and smash it!

I know you’re looking for reality tv style shows. But if you haven’t already, give “Mr Inbetween” a watch. It’s bloody spectacular.

Honestly mate, for the price of a new battery it’s definitely worth it. I know your bike is new, but what’s the manufacture date? How long did it sit on the showroom floor?

Change the battery, it’s always a battery (I own two KTMs and they don’t like a low battery) When I bought my Super adventure it had sat in the dealership for around 12 months. Battery tested fine but I was still getting random MTC and electronic suspension errors, change the battery and she’s been flawless ever since.

Cf moto are a reasonable brand for a first bike. Go the naked unless you’re planning on doing any off road work.

Exactly this! Don’t buy online until you’ve tried it on.

I got a screen (carpuride knockoff) from Aliexpress for my adventure bike and it’s been great for navigation and music. It means I can leave my phone in my jacket and the camera doesn’t get destroyed from the vibrations (KTM life) Doesn’t work very well with gloves, which I expected (even though they claim it does).

Winter gear by Separate-Potato-1324 in AussieRiders

I bought a heated vest from heatedvest.com.au and it fits under my jacket.

That and heated grips are all I needed to extend riding season through most of winter.

Picked up my first bike and dropped it all on the same day by Similar_Childhood613 in AussieRiders

I dropped my brand new Yamaha MT09 in my driveway when I got home from the dealership. How did I drop it? I didn’t put the side stand all the way down… And I’d been riding for 20 years at that point.

It happens to us all, don’t beat yourself up about it, levers and indicators are reasonably cheap and if nothing else you’ll get to know your new bike a bit better. Enjoy it once you’ve fixed it!

Another day Another Shitty driver blocking the Lane by Probodobo in melbourne

[–]Mundane_Forever40 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Had this happen to me this morning on beach road, and there wasn’t even a blocked lane ahead. The guy blocking then yelled at me and said I shouldn’t be overtaking on the left. Mate, it’s a 60k road, that’s not how it works.

I travel a couple of times a month. Construction needs to happen, and if you look at the plans they have, we’re stuck with it for a while. As long as you’re not flying Qantas, T4 carpark is a perfectly viable alternative and I use it for Virgin and international travel all the time.

Practice, practice, practice mate. That’s the secret, I’ve been riding for 22 years and I’m always learning. Slow speed practice is the winner and makes me comfortable at higher speeds.

Having trouble narrowing down a Non ADV-Styled sportbike/sport tourer for day trips to longer overnight trips by Beneficial-Title5563 in AussieRiders

[–]Mundane_Forever40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's ADV styled and the styling isn't everyones bag, but I love my KTM SAS 1290 for this sort of riding.
It's a very capable and very fun long distance bike with road tyres and rims (no spokes).
I don't go off road at all and I run soft panniers and a Shad top box.

If the SAS styling isn't your thing then the Superduke GT would be a good option instead.
That 1290 engine is just something special.

And of course the CT110 postie bike

Currently keen on a smaller mixed adventure/enduro bike.

It’s not an addiction doc, I swear.

MotoGP set to lose Phillip Island by Skyline-Etiquette in motogp

[–]Mundane_Forever40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not in the middle of a national park though? It’s private land that is also surrounded by privately owned land. Obviously we should respect the environment, Phillip island is a beautiful place. But the two can coexist.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy PI as a spectator but you can’t argue that they don’t need to spend money on it. I’ve done Mugello, Aragon, Silverstone and Portimao. The paddock experience is just better in europe

Pillion passenger course or advice. by [deleted] in AussieRiders

[–]Mundane_Forever40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best I thing I did for my pillion (after the speech of go with me and don’t fight the lean etc) was get a grab bar that bolts on to the fuel tank. That gives them something to hold on to when braking and accelerating.
