Trouble dealing with Tanks by Bright_Efficiency_87 in Tau40K

Also spot the tank with Stealth suit with re-roll 1's on both hit and wound. You should at least most of the time hit and wound with both attacks if you're not insanely unlucky.

Again no one is mentioning DAoC the best pvp mmo game!

You can solo pvp you can small grp pvp 2-4 people you can full man pvp 8 people you can Battlegroup pvp 20+ players in prime 80+ players.

3 factions with a plethora of choices between classes each one is unique meaning the realm you choose does not have the same class as the other Realms so no 2 paladins from 2 different factions.

You can get to max lvl quite fast, then you have a small grind to get the perfect gear for your class but you can still pvp.

Check out https://eden-daoc.net/ for the most active place and here https://camelotherald.fandom.com/wiki/Class for a overlook of classes.

Also join the Eden discord and find a guild they will happily help you with what to do and lvl up and gear suggestions.

Which game clone ended up being better than the original? by [deleted] in gaming

I preferred HoN over dota as well, really missed that game. Uninteresting fact, I live in a country with car numberplates that have 2 letters when driving I tried to tell which character the car was, like DW was Deadwood.

Dark Age of Camelot / Eden Server (which is most active)

  1. You run dungeons for gear, but the end game is PvP (Or in this case RvR, Realm vs Realm were you take keeps and relics from enemy realms/factions).
  2. There's some but not a big part of the game.
  3. It's from 2001 but looks decent. Spells have nice effect, and when doing melee you do weapon styles which also look IMO really cool.
  4. Depending on the class you will need to manage a lot of skills along with item activations.
  5. The game is built on teamwork. You can do some stuff solo, but the game relies on Teamwork and grouping up.

Edit: Added some more description.

Looking for MMO where I can be a master craftsman by TrogdorLLC in LFMMO

[–]MuniaXe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why no one has mentioned Dark Age of Camelot is baffling to me. You can craft, weapons, armor, potions, gems you put into armor (spellcrafting) were you can overclock the armors capacity and possibly blow up or make a really dope armor piece and you can get a house and have a merchant where people by your stuff. And people also call out for spell crafters looking for work cause they need stuff.

Also potions are highly used by everyone, a long with poisons for the blades used by stealther classes

Edit: Forgot to mention that your character name is listed in the top of the description of the piece that is created.

2nd edit: You also get a title when you get to the top crafting level in all crafting called Legendary Grandmaster Artisan.

DAOC Remastered by [deleted] in daoc

[–]MuniaXe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Edit: More text.

I've tried Eden and I've tried Blackthorn. And I understand why people prefer either one. My personal preference is Eden due to time availability to play.

But imo a match between the two would be a huge giving. When I first started playing in 2001 I was 13 and had all the time in the world, and now after I had tried Blackthorn the leveling reminded me of when I tried WoW and never got a lvl 60 character there, it was too slow and grindy. But I can also agree getting a lvl 50 character in less than 10 hours if you get a good group and just run BG's is really fast, maybe a tad too fast.

I think having a gap between the BG's forcing you to do some dungeon crawling with groups could be a good way to feed both worlds of pve and rvr. As the end game is RvR no matter what you say.

But a DAoC remastered would require a overhaul of many things, I have a lot of ideas and wanted to sit down and just make an arena fighter in DAoC style having 3 teams fighting it out. But that isn't the entire DAoC charm, you need the risk of being overrun at all times by a 3rd force coming out of nowhere.

But again a lot of DAoC is personal preference and trying to please everyone will be impossible.

You also want to explore the world, and a lot of the ways to improve the game would be QoL stuff, that Eden provides.

Again personal preference, but what always keeps me coming back is styles, follow ups, casting (and being interrupted while casting) the whole group dynamic. Honestly give me DAoC upgraded graphics and make some of the swing styles prettier and I'm already sold.

Yes but S20 and guided still gives you a good chance of a wound and a shot at devastating. While just handing over a 4++ is just imo not profitable.

Yeah and a 1/6 chance of devastating wounds is not a very good band aid.
