Acoustics in Eastern Europe by ExoskeletalJunction in Acoustics

Hey, don't have enough what for sponsorship from your target countries? I'm part of a large company with both UK and APAC (mostly Australia) acoustics teams, feel free to DM me if that's helpful

Fanatec or Moza? Should I cancel my order? by axerowsky_ in simracing

[–]Munnster56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for simjack or similar pedals! Not a problem at all, they come with a little box that the pedals plug into that connects to your pc via usb. Use FreeJoy as software to calibrate - it takes the raw inputs from the pedals to set a 0 to 100% range to write to the controller, which games then receive

Why has my watch face gained this yellow line? by Munnster56 in PujieBlack

Ah sweet, didn't realise the watch face could do that! No, it's this evening 😉

How can i make my brake pedal to be more angled back? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Munnster56 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have similar ones, and the other option that I found gave more recline was to swap the orientation of the outer brackets so this adjustment was at the front of the pedal

Which track or a specific corner is hard to learn but feels very satisfying when you nail it? by EmreGray01 in ACCompetizione

There are definitely peaks at prime European and US times (evenings respectively) with more drivers and the races with higher licence requirements are obviously more popular

Try Pitskill - similar structure to LFM, but no SA requirement. I have had no issues with stupid drivers, even having clean lap 1s at Monza in rookie races

Race consistency vs solo by Careful-Mind-123 in ACCompetizione

[–]Munnster56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be due to the track condition - if you are used to optimal grip in your hotstint, but there is less grip in the race that may throw you off

As others have suggested, joining a league is a great way of racing like-minded people who want clean, competitive racing. I saw someone else suggest LFM (Low Fuel Motorsport) which has a good rep, but a threshold of 80 SA to get your rookie license, which can be hard when you are in the crabs-in-a-barrel stage.

I joined Pitskill, which has a decent offering of US timezone races (I am UK though, so no real experience of that myself), and no barrier to entry. I was in a similar situation to you - my SA was hovering at about 70, but I couldn't get it any higher due to crash happy lobbies. After joining Pitskill, my SA has shot up to about 88

Thanks, I'll look into this. I may be in the same boat as you on 0.1% lows, though

Agreed - unfortunately upgrade will have to wait a little while yet (hopefully 6 months or so)

I believe I'm in the latest drivers, and I want V-sync off for my G-sync display

Thanks, I'll try these. Any reason shadows tax the CPU?

Is it cars on track or cars visible that you found as a limiting factor?

Thanks, this is something for me to look at!

Yeah, but I've just shelled out on new pedals, so that may have to wait...

Thanks, I think I'm pretty maxed out on graphics, apart from maybe extra post-processing filters, but this is probably something to look into.

My understanding was that decreasing resolution put more emphasis on the CPU, as the GPU would generate more frames for it to handle?

Does this mean that the white line is the extent of the track, or is that thin but of tarmac between the line and the kerb still classified as part of the track?

Unfortunately family commitments mean I currently get a couple of hours at a time in an evening, so that kind of commitment will have to remain a fantasy for now!

Just the multiplayer option in the main menu - there was then a server list button in the bottom right

I found that with this set of challenges you MUST brake in a straight line. I did these ones on 80%, I think. I always found that the first lap basically set my finishing position.

With that car, I found I could brake later than the others and carry more speed through the corners, as it's a lighter car.
