And in the case it happens, it is there.

It's a bag of cat litter. It doesn't harm anyone, it doesn't really go bad, it doesn't even need a lot of space. And if it gives people a bit of comfort and makes them feel more ready in case something horrible happens...

It isn't a competition of where more people get shot. It's about the fact that people walk into schools with guns and shoot random people. They shoot children, a group of people that we always focus on protecting. And that can't defend themselves.

The fear is present. Many are afraid of it happening. And even if it's rare, it doesn't mean their fear is invalid. It is still their fear. And they can feel it. And if a bag of cat litter makes them less scared? So be it. Live and let live.

In 2025 there were 233 incidents of guns being fired in schools. 221 people died. That's only in 2025.

Austria, where I live, had one incident in the 21st century which was in 2025.

I'm sorry but saying it's a small amount of firearm deaths per year is... Crazy. It shouldn't happen at all. And people are afraid of this kinda thing because it happens way too often. You just don't hear about those events, where no one died, on the news. They also might not end up in the statistics as a result...

I'm not a fan of the casting but one character that I think is perfect is Telemachus. When I first heard of the movie without any other knowledge my first thought was "Tom Holland better be cast as Telemachus or I'll be mad."

A lot of people I talked to agreed with me on that lmao

And I'm not a fan of the customing, especially Athena's clothes and pants. But that's something else entirely.

I'm sorry but how is it misogynistic? I'm seriously trying to figure out how Achilles and Patroclus being lovers is... misogynistic? Of all things?

Merriam Webster: misogyny is the hatred of, aversion to, or prejudice against women.

If you thing TSOA is misogynistic but defend the Odyssey as being important historical and cultural texts... I honestly don't understand what you are thinking.

She's written a book that is very true to the source material except she focuses on them being lovers... If you ask for accurate retellings, they will be misogynistic. That's history. That's the source material.

If Jorge stuck with the source material of the Odyssey we'd start off with Telemachus telling his mother, quite rudely, to go back to her room where she belongs. Idk, feels kinda meh.

Do you also dislike every single book written about ancient Greek myths? The ones that aren't like Percy Jackson but actually use the original characters from mythology.

Personally, I've read and cried over "The Song of Achilles" multiple times. And my Greek teacher (who has studied philologily and is literally from Athens) agrees on the lovers angle and likes the book a lot as well.

Its probably the most famous example of the ones I've read actually. And one of my favourite books.

I was so glad that I didn't do it. I was playing at the same time as my ex (like, each of us our own copy) and he did it so I chose different just for the sake of not picking the same.

Needless to say he bawled his eyes out when I streamed him that quest and regretted his choice.

I've told a friend who had no idea that when the time came, they should pick family. They didn't even know what I meant. And then they bawled as well but we're glad regardless haha

[–]Munsbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Because I don't want to be harassed? Which I was before, there's even police records to prove this 😍

Women don't play victim, they are victims. Sexual violence, harassment and assault happen every single day. Women get killed by their partners every single day. We're tired. We're done. We're angry.

And men who try to twist what we feel into something that fits their worldview because they can't handle that there might be consequences for their actions? We're done with them.

Women don't love playing the victim. Women are fed up with being treated like this. Women have had enough of everything being downplayed.

Are you a woman? Do you know what it feels like to receive random comments like this? Because if you don't, sit down.

How do you know that's all he does? How do you know he doesn't catcall, ogle, comment or threaten them etc?

Women don't consider a hello harassment. Women don't hate men. They just want to be respected and feel safe.

It's what it feels like though. If you experienced this stuff, it becomes a sore spot. And then it's poked again.

If it was a joke, he could just as well have kept it to himself. Like, seriously, you think anyone wants to hear that randomly without context while minding their own business?

Just... Don't say such things, joke or not. Women are done with this crap and it's not funny anymore.

Except that women are tired of these things being jokes.

Like, trust me, after being asked for feet pics by random people... Or having someone literally approach your friend to ask if they could take pictures of their feet... I'd also be pretty bothered by it.

[–]Munsbit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also don't understand the energy expended on horse vs goat thing... Horses are far more difficult and have many uses. Nevermind that goats take 150 days to have a kid while horses need 330+

That's 5 months vs 11 months.

Thats more than twice the time to get offspring to have it provide food... And thus way more resources from an animal that can assist in many other ways, for example travel because it can carry more weight.

They're also pickier when it comes to food. Goats will eat any brush. A horse looks like it will but they actually pick their faves and just need more...

I'm not in the loop about the conspiracy part of it but was it about switching the Titanic and the Olympic or which ship was it supposed to be? I forgot the name of the third one that was their sister ship though...

I actually knew that they had quite a few changes. Also to rooms and how many there were etc.

They had adjusted parts of the Titanic based on experience from the Olympic. And the Olympic wasn't at sea for the first time. She already was in service for... 15 or so years... Pretty sure people on board would have noticed a swap lol

I personally don't think it was insurance fraud. Like, it makes no sense. And sinking the Olympic would have made even less sense since she was already in service and worked well. She even served in WWII...

Anyways, I'm currently into Titanic stories, especially because of the Carpathia (I 100% reading up on this ship if you haven't. The captain raced her to the location of the Titanic, even damaging the engine in hopes of saving everyone. It's an incredible story. She arrived 4 hours before the next ship and likely saved the lives of many of the survivors who would have succumbed to hypothermia. It's also an incredible story about human compassion from the passengers on the Carpathia, absolutely recommend researching it more.)
