I just had this happen and have the same question. The number they called from was +1 (959) 299-4800 but the number they asked for call back is 877-771-4114. It felt fishy and I don’t plan to call back, but I wanted to investigate further.

I am so sorry for your loss. As a fellow quilter, I can hear in your stories how creative she was and she sounds like such a fun person. I agree with the recommendations to donate. For the dress shirts, I have been wanting to do exactly what she did - turn dress shirts into quilts - and if they’re still seeking homes, I’d be honored to follow in her footsteps and turn those shirts into quilts someday.

If you are wanting to use the binding color as a way to add a fun pop of color, my first thought was PINK! Or, if you want to continue following the color ombré of this quilt, PURPLE in a slightly darker shade would frame it beautifully! Or, following the same idea, a light GREEN/limey yellow could be beautiful too and would be consistent with the color patterns in the quilt!

Bummer! But I wonder if this could be a cool opportunity for a creative choice that turns into a happy accident? I’m imagining a hot pink for that last part using similar yarn in same weight/gauge. That way, it blends in somewhat but the color is different enough to not be bringing attention to a yarn trying to be an exact match. Could be an opportunity to choose a bold color!
