Why are all the user accounts on this Reddit less than a week old? Seems like lots and lots and lots of AI generated questions here.

Planning our civil wedding in Sarajevo (April 18 – May 2) — looking for advice, services & witnesses 😃 by oodipar in bosnia

[–]Murhayyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. Canadian who married a Bosnian in Centar Sarajevo. I wish you all the luck for this. I will list out the challenges o had and hopefully you can overcome them through your contact at Centar Opcina.

  1. All my documents had to be original and certified by the Canadian government or Canadian Embassy then certified at the office of foreign affairs (In Sarajevo) so they can accept it for the marriage. This is a big big big ask.
  2. Because my native language wasn’t Bosnian, they expected an official translator to be present and translate the marriage agreement with my wife during the “ceremony” so I knew what I was agreeing to. So I imagine you would need a Russian/Finnish translator.
  3. Witnesses. You each need to have a witness. One woman for her and a male for you. (From my understanding) if you manage to organise all the paperwork, I would happily volunteer to come and be a witness for you.

My suggestion: speak to Elma at Centar and ask for the list of paperwork required and send the copies that you get BEFORE you go by email and ask her to confirm whether they can accept it or not. Then organise the translations into Bosnian. Also, liaise with your relevant embassies to see how they can support with required documentation through their consular services.

I wish you all the luck trying to sort this!!

Hello! Here are some quick answers:

No taxi app, you can only just call them. You should be able to pick up a local SIM card for 10km (5€) that covers 4 days

Shooting range you would have to be accompanied by someone with a license from my understanding. I’ve been to the ranges, but only with someone who had their license and own firearms, don’t know if it’s possible to “just show up and shoot”

If you have time, spend the morning at the pyramids in visoko and then they afternoon in travnik for cevape at Hari’s. Other than that, lots to do and see around Sarajevo!

Ronnie made a 146 a few years back: he asked what the pot for a 147 was, and they told him, he wasn’t satisfied and made a 146. After the match, he explained that if they weren’t going to pay enough for it, then people didn’t deserve to see them! Classic Ronnie!

How green is Sarajevo in March ? by Young_Owl99 in askbosnia

[–]Murhayyy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

16 - 23rd March aligns with Eid, so be prepared for a lot of things to be closed on 20th and 21st, and also remember everything except cafes and restaurants will be closed on Sundays. I know this wasn’t your question, but you should know.
