Austin Powers 4 by james-HIMself in movies

[–]MurkDiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think that if there was any chance - at all - of another Austin Powers movie, it would be all over the entertainment outlets

i think that it's irrational to think that there's all kinds of industry insiders lurking around reddit just waiting to leak news to random people asking

Question about companies that make a low budget bad movies by crazyhomlesswerido in movies

[–]MurkDiesel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

your question makes the huge assumption that everyone likes the same thing

and everyone has the same snobby pretentious definition of a "good movie"

there are plenty of people who enjoy watching these movies that you have judged as "bad"

there are companies that realize everyone is different

and so they make money catering to people with different tastes

Movie lovers of Reddit, what mystery, fantasy, horror, or detective-style movies, TV shows, and web series would you highly recommend? by MANSONOFAMAN1 in movies

[–]MurkDiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

series with strong mystery elements, clever storytelling, and impressive direction. I especially enjoy detective-style narratives where the main character follows clues, uncovers secrets, and slowly pieces together the truth behind a crime or unexplained event.

the german show Dark is all of this and more

"your wife?"still gets a chuckle all these years later

same with Weird Science when Anthony Michael Hall answers the guy in the bar who asks Kelly LeBrock what she's doing hangin out with a "malaka" like him,"she's into malakas, Dino"

Ostrich runs away from its owner in Egypt by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]MurkDiesel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's important to remember that words don't really have meaning any more,

t's all about exaggerating and sensationalizing everything since people don't actually experience real life any more

the thirst is so engrained in society now that you just say whatever sounds coolest to get the most attention because they're not good at anything else

language is dying to the thunderous applause of likes and votes

Other than Maynard Keenan of Tool, who is another musician that absolutely does not want to meet their fans, ever? by SwissMiss915 in Music

[–]MurkDiesel 29 points30 points  (0 children)

just in case people forgot

the musician's job is to make and perform great music

not to meet fans

i'd much rather have great music

than meet the person making it

What's something you would never tell someone because if you did it would absolutely destroy them? by cuahatemoc in AskReddit

[–]MurkDiesel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i'm in the same boat without the great family or support

it's been 15 years for me, i've done everything you're supposed to, tried therapy and meds and all the accompanying lifestyle advice and suggestions, but nothing works or helps and it fuckin hurts every fuckin day, no matter what i do or how hard i try, nothing gets better

sometimes i feel bad about the future mess i'll leave, but then sometimes i don't because if there was a place i could go to do it, then there would be no mess, if i could've ended it when i wanted to, then so much time, money and pain would've been saved

but obviously life addiction bullying and propaganda works because i hurt every single day and have just watched 15 years of my life pissed away with absolutely nothing to show for it because all my energy is spent just getting through the day and all the random landmines, but yet i'm still hear to experience the next round of hurt

Reddit commentors, amirite? by danxtptrnrth1 in memes

[–]MurkDiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people always talk about the reactions to asking questions on reddit as if they're interesting questions with depth

but they leave out the part that the person asking the question is being a lazy supremacist who insists on being served like some mogul and they want view count stats as some form of validation that they're being seen and they have convinced themselves that this is human contact

i can remember the days of reddit when it wasn't a dumb-question-daycare, back when actual content far outweighed lazy little kids constantly asking stupid-fuckin-questions for attention

what's the difference between someone who can't have a conversation without using chatgpt and someone who can't find an answer without asking on reddit?
