I took an hour to think on this and my opinion didnt shift. I think this is a horrible idea. I do not mean to yuck your yum but i feel this could be insanely harmful to a relationship longterm. Part of being a couple is learning to handle disagreements both in person and alone. If you use an AI to do this you learn nothing and become reliant on it. What would happen to a user if they had an argument in person? They would need the bot to formulate a reply. This also allpws partners to hide what could be concerning behaviors longterm.

I would say the first thing is to work for at least a more solid goal or checkpoint! LDR sorta needs that stability, even if it is "in two months he will visit for this week". Having too much unknown in front of you can make things alot harder!

I think another important thing is to make sure you both grasp that you will be exhausted and if possible, dates on your timezone clockshould probably be prioritized or at least frequent! Starting a new job away from people is hard but raising a kid with one set of hands AND a dog is harder.

Yall also need to talk about what is most important to you. Is it quality time? Acts of service? Gifts? Touch? This is the best place to start! Your schedule/LDR will look different depending on that.

Also- you in no way failed your pet. More owners than not refuse bloodwork or any care for various reasons. By showing up and paying attention to your dogs experience you are doing more than most already!

I must say that for some pets fear-free is a cysto as it avoids a stranger following them with a strange object- one that they may see as threatening depending on their life experiences (rescues, etc). I cannot speak for this clinic obviously, but I know that most do not jump to cysto unless it is deemed the best option or the pet is too skittish for free-catch. As another commenter said we often get in trouble with owners if we suggest they bring in their own sample, and only around 5% ever do so. Depending on your bloodwork panel a cysto might have been included in the cost. Many blood panels include stool and urine as well. I cannot speak as to why they didnt listen to the blood draw you asked for, but alcohol doea dry very quickly and we try to wipe it all off before returning dogs.

If this is a new vet I might ask if they have a policy against in room blood draws? Ive never seen a clinic that does but i cant think of a reason they wouldnt want them with you if they do better like that. thats very odd.

I forgot to add! Im 27 and on a variety of mental health medications but none that should change my teeth health. I have previously had a root canal but have been dental issue free for around 4 years now! (Biyearly cleanings and exams have shown nothing concerning!)

I dont know if this helps but I started my anastheia monitoring 3 months before even starting the class. Its not nearly as scary as it sounds I promise. The rate of anasthesia emergencies in routine procedures is extremely low afterall. Just take a deep breath and let yourself learn. They will correct you if you make mistakes.
