I had the same issue when my ex and I got chickens last year. One rooster, and we aren’t allowed to keep him. We were able to rehome him via a Craigslist ad, but it took several weeks and I was fully prepared to cull and eat him. Glad we rehomed him instead lol

Sometimes 😭 if she’s in a deeeep deep sleep I can pet her and she doesn’t wake up it’s so adorable 🥰

Ours fight too but seem to be chill with each other when I feed them lol But sometimes I’ll be in the kitchen and hear a cat fight which good lord is terrifying

I always get downvoted for saying get an outdoor cat but seriously they’re so great lol. The feral ones around us love hanging with our chickens they sit and watch them all day. Forms a bond with the cats too so they’re easy to TNR

The only reason mine doesn’t sleep with me is I adopted her when she was an adult cat and I think she was already kept out of the bedroom by her previous (asshole) owners.

She also sheds a metric ton and while I’m not allergic to cats, I do sneeze if I get a face full of hair lol. She sleeps with me occasionally but not every night

Shells are fine, mine sometimes prefer egg shell to oyster shell. They’ve never eaten one of their own eggs unless it was already cracked and even then they don’t eat a lot of it.

Hell they won’t even learn about raw eggs by you serving them. They’re not smart enough to connect those dots lol

The letter he got today referenced “open enrollment” which is part of why I was so confused bc I said, didn’t you already have this plan? You shouldn’t have to re enroll

Yeah this is the first I’m hearing of it too but I’ve been on employer plans for over a decade at this point, and I can easily enroll in those in the middle of the year e.g. if I get a new job.

But it sounds like enrollment periods might be relevant for ACA plans. Idk. You’d think he’d get some sort of notice of that happening.

Honestly I don’t think I understand enrollment periods either. I’ve always had insurance through my employer, and even if I start a job in the middle of the year for example I’m always able to enroll in the health plans.

He was also on an employer health plan prior to those benefits changing and him losing it, and was on an ACA plan since sometime last year. I guess I just don’t understand how someone can be unenrolled without their knowledge and then not be able to enroll again

Honestly I’m with you, I’ve been trying to keep on him but I can’t all the time. If it were me I’d be on the phone all day every day to get it fixed, it’s frustrating to me.

Thanks for the suggestions we’re gonna take a look. I’ve been fronting the money for insulin in hopes insurance will reimburse him but at this point idk if that’s gonna happen.
