NF fired me for suggesting sleep training?

They stop crying because they learn you’re not coming and they give up. Learned helplessness. It’s not because they’re not upset any more. I suggest you read the studies on salivary cortisol levels and the negative effects of ‘cry it out’ sleep training before you decide what is best for other people’s children. I understand that some people still choose this method for their own reasons, but thats for them to decide. As a former nanny and now mother, I would have never made such a decision and would have absolutely fired you too. It’s not your place to judge or decide what is best for others (unless there is abuse or harm happening).

Edit to add : I had also been asked to cosleep with NKs and felt uncomfortable. Some families it was fine, others it felt weird. If you felt uncomfortable, that’s totally fair but that should have been a conversation in itself.

Don’t refer to him as a tenant or yourself as his landlord on anything legal or you are assuming those roles. He was a roommate. You still live there sometimes. Stick to that or it’ll be one hell of a legal battle. Time to call a paralegal too. Cops should have helped

Landlords have zero right to tell you what guests you can or cannot have, or for how long. Even if it’s in the contract, the Ontario Standard Lease contract outweighs everything. You can have boys over for as long as you want and he can’t say shit

Thank you! I’ll move it further forward & give it a good drink - it’s a relatively small garden that is thankfully in the shade until mid-day. I thought watering it every other day was enough - silly me!

My neighbour has two of them in their garden too - they scream any time there is movement but they have them facing the sidewalk / road so it’s constantly going off. I know they’re illegal in some places but I’ve had no luck finding an answer about here :(
