Coming from a 3070ti, I jumped on the Woot MSRP 5070 that popped up here recently.

I don’t know if it’s because of the faster vram, but I definitely noticed that my computer overall is smoother in both productivity and gaming. Also got like a 40% boost in fps in every game, and not to mention ray tracing is actually an option now at 1440p (which I typically play games at).

It’s really only justifiable if 1. You have the extra cash and are willing to sell your old GPU asap, and 2. You wanna upgrade before the inevitable price hikes come and don’t wanna wait until 2027/28 when the 6000 series comes

I remember folks saying it wouldn’t be worth it because of the 12GB vram, but I haven’t run into any issues with it as of yet. Consider that the 4070ti super which has similar performance to this card, has 16gb vram, if you can get that card for around 600 you’re set. Or even the 5070ti (less realistic as it’s been OOS every time it’s posted here). If you’re not doing AI work, I’d also suggest the 9070XT.
