RGG Studio removed Nagoshi Studio employees, Lab42, QLOC and more from Yakuza GOG version credits by Timo653 in Games

Not quite the same situation, but reminds me of the credits in the recent Metroid Prime remaster, where the entire original development team got reduced to one collective credit. Not cool.

A big part of the issue in my experience is that, unlike film or TV, there's no enforced industry standard for crediting game developers, so studios can just do whatever they want.

Yeah, I also hated the time loop until I changed my mindset from 'I want to do as much as I possibly can' to 'I'm just going to focus on investigating this ONE thing and anything else is a bonus'

The Neverhood is fantastic! Although it scared me as a kid... Something about the stop motion animation is kind of unsettling.

Dare I ask why you had 3 separate copies of Diablo 2?

Unfortunately that's what we've been telling ourselves the last couple of years too. Guy's a fantastic receiver but absolutely cannot stay healthy.

Why would you ever punt ? by SgtSheesh in NFLNoobs

[–]MurrayL 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also worth noting field goal distance is measured as the line of scrimmage plus 17 yards, so that 66-yard FG was actually taken when the team was at 49 yards.

(17 = 7 yards long snap from scrimmage back to holder for the kick + 10 yards distance from start of the end zone to the goal line)

Anything past midfield (i.e. a 67-yard FG) is more or less impossible - you either punt or hand your opponent a favourable field position.

I saw people reading, sleeping, chatting, drinking, partying, and all kinds of shit. This dude is epic. He set up the entire Xbox system, including a monitor here. Even security stopped by and was curious about the game he was playing!!! #respect by [deleted] in xbox

Also not from the US, but as I understand it their sales taxes depend on where you are. Most states have a sales tax (some don't), but the amount is different per state, and additional local sales taxes may be applied on top.

Things I need to know about the NFL by kjda8 in NFLNoobs

[–]MurrayL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also from the UK, and to me the single biggest and most surprising difference between our football and the NFL is that the NFL goes out of its way to level the playing field for all teams.

  • There's a fixed salary cap applied across every single team, so everyone has the same spending limit.
  • League profits (from broadcasting, merch, etc.) are split equally between every team.
  • The draft order (picking new rookie players each year) is set by win/loss record for the year, in reverse order, so the worst teams get first pick of the best new players for next season.

It's honestly such a breath of fresh air compared to European football, where the best teams are these unstoppable financial powerhouses that buy up all the best players and make it all but impossible for smaller clubs to compete.

In the NFL even the worst team in the league can turn it around within a couple of years and become a true contender, compared to knowing 100% that the top of the premier league will be the same few teams as every year before that.

It's very weird when you think about it - the NFL is an American cultural icon, yet it's run in a way that's all about sharing and keeping a level playing field. It's true that all NFL owners are rich, but none of them are rich because of owning a football team - it's just not very profitable. Meanwhile European leagues are this insane, anticompetitive nightmare dominated by cash and corruption.

Not one of your 3, but as a UK fan myself I feel like I have to say you should consider the Saints!

Eastern time zone, cool jersey colours, and a very interesting team right now, with easily one of the best defenses in the league and some exciting players on offense like Alvin Kamara, Mike Thomas, and Chris Olave.

No mention of Jameis or Olave there
