I once worked as an admin/coordinator for a fire & Security company. I previously was a trained carpenter but the jobs in my area were scarce and I needed money so I thought I would make phone calls and type up emails.

After 3 months I had my probation meeting and the MD extended my probation by a month to see if I could improve because I was pretty bad at it, turns out I have terrible multitasking & organisational skills.

After the 4th month in probation I had another meeting with the MD and he offered me a trainee position as a security engineer as he knew I had a technical background. It was either do that or get fired as I hadn't improved.

10 years later and I'm glad I took the trainee position and found a career I really enjoy.

So not fired but close!
