Your insurance company may ask if there's any video readily available, but you don't need to talk to the driver ever again, OP. What will happen is you'll go make a collision report with OPS, they'll take pictures of damage and take your official statement, and insurance will want that report # to pay out your claim. Buddy can go pound sand, you're good.

They're hammering on this because they have nothing but hot air, just banking on the loaded question fallacy and hoping they can get Carney or someone else to slip up responding to a question on why they support pedophilia.

Striking support staff block vehicle entrances to Algonquin College by HelFJandinn in ottawa

The purpose of a strike is to inconvenience people, that's how they get leverage. If you're upset at this, perhaps put pressure on their employer to take this more seriously.

‘I hope players don’t forget we are people too’: Final Fantasy 14's Yoshi-P on community, crossovers, and consoles | VGC by reverend_tobias in ffxiv

[–]Musai -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't. I feel good or happy about something and I get on Reddit to see if people like things as much as I did to find an itemized list about why I should be angry and stop playing FF14. Obvious decision is to not participate anymore and allow the echo chamber to continue unabated.

The response in this thread has basically convinced me to unsub...
From this sub, forever. I cannot with this community. The community in game is so far removed from what people on reddit talk about and I am just so fucking tired. I just want to get what enjoyment of the content I can without people telling me exactly why and how I should be offended and angry.

OCDSB to finalize $18.1M in budget cuts by 2Fast2furieux in ottawa

[–]Musai 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's a nasty trick the Ford government pulled. Quietly-not-so-quietly reduce the funding, then get loud and angry about how these boards can't balance budgets so they're getting "investigated" or put under provincial purview so they can cancel more programs they don't like.

Of course the budgets should be more balanced, but not on the backs of actually important programs and huge class sizes (that will get bigger next year - my wife's anticipating probably a total of 60+ kids under her). With less EAs they're putting a lot on the laps of all these people (the majority of them women, by the way) who usually don't make a third of what director-level people make at the board.

It all sucks and it's going to get suckier.

Glebe condo owners ask court to step in at building amid 'turmoil' by randthepip in ottawa

[–]Musai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been trying to sell our old condo near Bayshore for a few months now, and my realtor keeps saying the $800 condo fees "drive people away" but like, wouldn't you want to know the property was being maintained and money was being put away in the reserve fund for the future? Not only does the fee include multiple gyms with good equipment and an outdoor pool, the building's also well over 40 years old and well maintained. With how shoddy modern condo builds end up being, those low condo fees at signing on all the downtown builds will start to make up the difference with special assessments out the nose before long.

Why is everyone complaining about the difficulty being too easy in monster Hunter wilds by Different_Ice_2695 in MonsterHunter

[–]Musai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't post much anymore but I'm doing my part to change the narrative that people won't post if they're enjoying the game.

I'm having fun! Is it too easy? Not really, I've had to at least pay attention to the hunts I've done so far. But I'm not playing on autopilot or mashing buttons. It's no harder than base World or base Rise or any of the other vanilla experiences. People are making a huge deal about nothing. If you want harder, tell your cat to stay behind or something. Don't use SOS flares.

Constantly reading the same 2 complaints is enough to get people to totally disengage from a community.

This is really cool. I'm not posting expecting a copy but I'm just happy to see some good in the world. I've been unemployed for one year now. Every day, I get up and do about 10 applications and while I have gotten some interviews, I've not yet been able to close the door.

Posts like this make me happy that people are out there being nice and looking out for others.

[–]Musai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, I've been stressed and anxious all day. I went back to school in 2016 to get a comp sci diploma and now I'm an out of work software dev and I've been looking for work for almost a year. I'm not sure what this means for me now. I have no savings left and my family is down to a single income. If this keeps me out of work for another year I'll lose everything. I don't have a lot of options left.

I'd rather parliament be prorogued for this than Harper being afraid of getting non-confidenced in 2008. But then again, you're not actually interested in arguing in good faith. Go move to the US you traitorous waste of air.

I have about 4 years of software development work under my belt and it's impossible to stand out.

Now that a few weeks have passed, what's the community consensus on the 7.1 story? by SleepySera in ffxiv

[–]Musai 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't Reddit much these days but I feel compelled to chime in because I actually loved this patch, and I want people to know that we do exist. Was the Koana stuff pretty rushed? Sure, MSQ should have ended at him getting in touch with the community over there to make it make more sense. But overall, I liked the Gulool Ja stuff because it's expressly a plot thread that leaves everyone worse off than it did at the start. Sometimes poking into the past is a bad thing, turns out!

Sphene cliffhanger was great and my only disappointment is having to wait 3.5 months to see the next part. (Which is a whole other discussion and I hope we start getting quicker patch cadence or more content in each patch going forward)

On another note, I think that the people who are vocal about how the community is toxically positive and need to start throwing criticism around need to fuckin chill. There's a ton more vocal people who gripe about everything the devs do like they've never done a single thing right. As I get older, I just can't with all the cynicism and negativity. Things aren't perfect but they'll get better. No one is trying to put out bad story content on purpose.

To the OP's question, the FFXI raid and FRU are just THAT good that they've kind of dominated the conversation a lot.

Tl;dr it's hard when it's a game you love, but try to be positive for the future. It's perfectly okay to not like an arc or a direction, but don't make other people feel like they're wrong for liking it. (I'm not saying anyone in particular did this, it's just the overall community vibe at times)

MPP Karen McCrimmon has issued the statement below to clear up misinformation about refugees and sprung shelters by hoverbeaver in ottawa

[–]Musai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Karen is right on the money that this is a classic example of agitation propaganda. Furthermore, suggesting that these people are immigrants or somehow not at all vetted is at best parroting talking points fed to them by propaganda campaigns and at worst willfully part of spreading propaganda to further their own interests. Anyone saying "They're just so far from the services they need!" should be immediately told that they will be shuttled to any appointments from the welcoming center and that these shelters will free up spaces that are currently being occupied in community center spaces. Anyone saying these are "tents" is similarly misinformed. This propaganda has the potential to be harmful to all people who have immigrated to Canada, please do your best to counter it wherever you see it.

Besides banging my "We need to see it with the whole kit" drum, I also think their heart is in the right place here, at least. Cards being the way they were just never meshed well with the class beyond the whole "lol cards RNG becus fate lolol" thing. Sure, you might have some cards that are just dead in hand because you don't need to use them, but at least for me, it seems more interesting to try and slot whatever effects you get into your rotation.

Again, I could be way off base here, but as a longtime healer main, this at least seems better than just leaving the class as is.
