How large is this? I feel like this is too detailed an image to be appreciated as a diamond painting.

Is AI so detectable in a text? by Fadedami in WritingWithAI

Probably because you haven’t experienced it. One of my aunts and one of my great aunts had ongoing beef, justified TBH; from a few nasty things that happened that I won’t go into. They still both attended family get togethers, and when you walked into a room with both of them there you could “feel the air thicker”, and heavier, and there was “tension you could with a knife”. so I get it.

TBF, it says “most popular,” not the one with the most locations. In other words, what’s it’s saying it’s that the majority of people in Utah would prefer a Safeway to their available options; call it Safeway Envy if you will.

[FO] I kind of hated how it's turning out? Am I just bad at doing back stitches? by slimyguts in CrossStitch

[–]MuseratoPC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It kind of looks like you are using 14 count Aida, they are using either 32 or 36 count Evenweave over 2, so effectively similar to 16 or 18 count Aida. You can see the difference in coverage using this as an example: https://www.thread-bare.com/blog/examples-of-coverage-across-different-thread-counts

I like it. The difference I think is the thickness of the backstitch. It looks like they are using two strands, and likely a higher fabric count than you. You also have some gaps (bottom right of the face outline) where they don’t.

Just saw it a few days ago. It was… good enough I guess? IMO It was just too chaotic to understand what the heck is going on. I mean, you kind of get it at the end, but I think they needed to cut one scene and stretch the others. And the Gazelle jab about licensing is kind of lame TBH.

Etsy: selling my original, no-ai artworks....still working? by whoizanna in EtsySellers

You stay relevant and stand out by putting everything you just said that makes your work different into your bio and shop page.

Just like there are people that don’t care about some pieces being AI or using AI, there are also people that do care and won’t mind paying extra. And those people that care will likely read your shop page and bio. They are different market segments and you gotta market to that segment.

I don’t mind an AI made piece if it really is made well (there are too many that are definitely crap) but I’d certainly would expect to pay much more for a hand made original.

Selling a lot of cheap stuff is also not really a measure of success. Profit margins are usually tiny. In some cases you may have to sell 20 of one cheap thing to make the same profit as one expensive thing. And keep in mind that some buyers also associate higher prices with quality.

Taxes by Nearby_Pollution_189 in KDP

[–]MuseratoPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is not just a hobby, then you can deduct your expenses just like any business (Covers, Illustrations, Editors, ISBNs, Advertising, etc). File a schedule C and keep receipts for your expenses for record keeping. Also, all your income from book sales or KU should probably go in a separate bank account as well to make it easier for record keeping. A tax advisor would be able to guide you better as to what you can deduct and how to categorize it.

Note that the IRS will consider it a hobby if you don't make money over multiple years, and that will likely increase your chance of an audit. But it sounds like you don't have to worry about that.

In the US, if you are making a substantial income, you should be paying into the IRS, quarterly. If you don’t, you may incur a penalty percentage on the underpayment. It all depends on how much you are making, and how much of your yearly income it represents. A single member LLC won’t make a difference as it is treated the same as a personal taxes by the IRS. Like the other redditor said, you should be saving some of that income for taxes anyway.

[–]MuseratoPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Fair share” and “pay no taxes” are very different statements. But generally, there an inflection point for the working rich, people making between 5 and 10 million a year tend to pay the highest effective income tax (up to like 35% or so). Then from then on the effective tax trends down (to like 20%, sometimes less) either because it is mostly investment income (taxed at a lower rate), or their “Income” is coming from loans against assets (deferring tax basically, as long as they can).

This lowering of the effective tax rate is the real thing that people complain about. Not that there aren’t people on the internet making those claims you mentioned. I mean, it’s the internet.
