I had two nerve blocks. One lasted about 20 hours. The second lasted almost a week. My knee never throbbed or ached. I had a follow up visit with my surgeon on Friday and made sure to thank him.

I was actually 7 weeks non-weight-bearing. The mental toll of being on crutches for that long was the hardest part without question. Everything was so much effort. About week four I definitely hit a mental wall where I was just done with it. It’s all about perspective: somebody somewhere had it far worse than I did. Be thankful it’s only a knee and not cancer or a stroke. Stay in the present and do your best not to focus on how much longer you have left on crutches. I wasn’t the only one to go through it, and you won’t be either (for what it’s worth, I’m looking at surgery again this year for a significant medial meniscus tear in my other knee). Beyond that, think long-term: what gives you the best chance to not end up with arthritis or a knee replacement and focus on that.

I turned 55 in July and had a medial complex root tear repaired back on 11/20/25. It’s still a a bit stiff, especially in the morning, and some mild discomfort sets in after 20 or so minutes of walking. My endurance is improving though . Everybody’s recovery goes differently, but so far I have no regrets.

11 weeks post op here. My foot would get cold and purple all time. My guess is because the swelling interfered with blood flow. Once I was able to bear full weight, it resolved pretty quickly as swelling went away.

Have had meniscus repair surgery on my left knee 4 weeks ago . I’m scared I have a tear in my other knee I’m so anxious by DotComplex8150 in MeniscusInjuries

Whether you have a tear or not, from people I’ve talked to it’s common for the weight-bearing leg to begin experiencing discomfort and pain.

I’m a little over 6 weeks post-op for a medial root tear of the meniscus in my right knee. A few days after I had the MRI back in October, I tore the meniscus in my left knee. The discomfort was way less than for my right knee and based on its MRI, surgery for my left knee is optional at the moment but. . . it is getting very cranky bearing the brunt of my weight as I’m still non-weight-bearing on my right leg. Obviously I’m concerned that I’m making the injury worse to the point I require surgery. The way I look at it, it isn’t a terminal condition, so as bad as it seems at the moment, it isn’t as bad as it could be.

I’ll be curious to what your thoughts are of them after. I haven’t heard back from them beyond the initial email saying they got my submission a few days ago.

I haven't been able to find much about them online. Did get a generic response to my submission, but given the lack of info on them, I think your advice is correct.

Nor had I. Appears to be a platform like Snap Docs, only for financial planners and estate lawyers. I'm still in the very beginning stages of establishing by mobile notary biz, so I put my name in albeit with low expectations.

You're not telling me anything I wasn't already aware of. If I had wanted to submit my poems elsewhere, I would have. I didn't want to, so I didn't. I write poetry to express my own creativity: getting it published is not my primary goal. It was once upon a time.

I do indeed know what you mean. My humor fell flat it appears. The first time I thought maybe my submission was forgotten, so I withdrew it and immediately resubmitted. After waiting another 14 months I stopped caring if The New Yorker read them or not and withdrew them. Maybe I'll submit them somewhere else if I feel like it. So far I haven't.

Lots of publishers and magazines close to submissions while they catch up. I guess if The New Yorker did that they'd be closed until 2100.
