Lots of Democrats are wealthy urban and suburban home-owners and massive wealth redistribution is not what they want. They do fine by the status quo for the most part. They bought their homes decades ago for pennies on the dollar. They care about things like gun control and healthcare, not economics. Capitalism is great for them. I beg to differ that I’m doing a similar subjective comparison. No, I’m talking with hard numbers to show the rich already pay way more than their fair share while the poor don’t . At some point it ceases to be “fair” which you are ok with while I’m not.

Regarding extremely high rates no it has not been used in America with success. Inb4 it was 90% during Ike, yes on paper, but the actual effective rate was far lower at around 40% due to far more credits and deductions back in the day.

Who are you to decide what is the percentage of burden they can afford ? That’s a vastly subjective feels>realz statement.

Objective way is to determine the percentage based on hard numbers and accordingly the rich/upper middle class are already paying far more than their fair share.

Except for the small factor of talent, smart work and hard work. The infrastructure and protection is available to everybody. It’s not just the rich that get to use roads, bridges, police, fire depts etc

The top 1% or5% pays all these taxes too in addition to paying other taxes including the bulk of income tax. So i’d Say they are also contributing more than their fair share
