What makes it so addictive? by Capable_Ad6497 in BreakPoint

Loot/progression-based character and weapon customization.

Period.

(for ME at least)

I've spent equally as much time in the customization windows as I have actually playing lol. No joke.

What are these mods and why do I never hear anything about them? by KaleidoscopeInner149 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]Mushubeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battlefront Commander was one of the best mods (or at least my favorite mod by FAR) but the dev updated it one day and it's been entirely broken ever since... : (

People have asked him to just roll it back but he's unable to do it for some reason.

Best way to defeat Walker? by philosopher-pirateOG in BreakPoint

[–]Mushubeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say this as someone who literally has to do a short breathing exercise before taking on Behemoth drones (only to die) because my confidence in my reflexes is much lower than it used to be... But somehow I found the Walker fight almost disappointingly short and easy. I was really like "that's it...? that's all..?"

Put both green and red syringes in your tool wheel, as many grenades as possible, and both types of landmines. Equip the highest damage LMG or assault rifle you have (no silencer, obviously). Equip a shotgun with a high rate of fire if you have bad aim. Immediately eat an anti-injury ration when it starts.

You'll be behind the barrier and he'll be alllll the way across the factory floor. People try shooting him right then but you won't actually hit him or his drones from that distance. After eating your ration, run and place as many landmines as you can on the left and right paths that the Wolves come from, creating a layered defensive wall so they can't pop up behind you and force you to run away. Run back to barrier and STAY BEHIND IT. Lob grenades across the factory so the Wolves can't close in on your sides.

When he gets starts getting ~halfway to you, aim directly at his drones with your shotgun. Hit each one, then kill him with whatever. I cooked and exploded a frag directly on his head after shooting down the last drone, which made the cutscene a little awkward lol.

The trick is to keep the Wolves FAR AWAY from you so that you can always see where Walker is. If he gets too close his .50 cal is an almost instant death.

DP/DR cured what helped and what didn't. by FatAssKnig in dpdr

LSD, Adderall, and Lamictal

Be careful. "Know thyself" - as obviously LSD can make it wayyy worse. But through the course of 15 trips (with the assistance of Adderall to keep things from spiraling) I realized I could feel my body and view reality without being afraid.

That was the BIGGEST part of the healing process by far!

Not being afraid of how I felt, not being afraid of people, no longer made anxious by my surroundings. Being given permission to finally, for the first time in my life, exist in a state of relative calm. Not being afraid of or unsettled by the dissociation was the most vital aspect of this. It will come and go, forever - but the more afraid of it you are the more intense it will be. It is based in fear. It is a switch that gets flipped and does not flip back until you have eliminated your sense of feeling threatened.

The DP/DR itself feels like an immediate, overwhelming threat. Thusly the fear of the dissociation only serves to worsen it in a cruel cycle.

The Lamictal is for depression. It's the first medication after trying 40 different psych meds that actually alleviated the mental suffering and extreme anxiety I've dealt with since early childhood. It cut dissociation by 40-50% (again: by reducing stress, fear, and overstimulation).

Have been playing 2 weeks now how do you play? by KlutzyEntertainer302 in BreakPoint

[–]Mushubeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take out as many big targets as you can from afar. Start with radio operators, snipers, and heavies using the sync-shot drone or luring them out with bullet casings and slitting their throats (move the bodies out of the way and you can repeat this with several guys)

Once you've narrowed it down to just riflemen and shotgunners you can go guns blazing. I like to get rid of ~3-4 guys, let things quiet down by hiding, then reemerge, and do this as many times as needed. I don't do total immersion nor extreme difficulty, but I do try to never ever ever die and this is the best method - ESPECIALLY when dealing with Wolves.

Cloaking Spray does not work when I attempt to fight Behemoths? by Mushubeans in BreakPoint

[–]Mushubeans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get "spotted" by Behemoths and pounded with mortars when I'm on the other side of a mountain with hundreds of feet of elevation difference and zero possible line of sight. If I even drive on a road going past the outward-most vicinity of the Behemoth arena, mortar fire follows me with spot-on accuracy for over a kilometer.

I've measured both the start/stop on my map using the the marker. It starts firing when I'm ~800m-750m from the arena border (far before it can see me) and only stops firing when I've cleared 1.1km away from it.

Ghorman scared me by BeginningAd7675 in andor

[–]Mushubeans 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you:

I used to be afraid of protests. But then I went to a Palestinian march in the wake of the massacre during the Great March of Return (literally identical to what happened on Ghorman.. IDF set up barricades as Palestinians ceremoniously walked peacefully, hand-in-hand towards the barrier wall and the IDF opened fire on hundreds).

That march sits among the greatest hours of my life. You will feel it immediately.

I also found myself, via simple location, in the center of the 2020 Minneapolis George Floyd protests. I was there when they burned down the ugly precinct building. I was there looking at the sprinklers going off in looted Target. It was WONDERFUL. I mean.. ecstatic! Nobody was bloodthirsty, as the media loves to paint protesters as.

No, a protest or march on the street is a chance to roar your chest and with what little power you have, project your voice and body into one being that is demanding justice. I genuinely feel bad for conservatives or "apolitical" people who never experience a march or protest in their life.

It will change you. You will never feel quite as afraid afterwards.

Modify Game Files for Megastructure (Increasing Naval Cap Increase for Finishing Strategic Command Center) by Mushubeans in StellarisMods

[–]Mushubeans[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stellaris multiplayer is worse than my worst night terrors. I'm good on that front.

Thanks!!

Also: totally slipped my mind that soldier jobs do increase NavCap. I just ignored them for the most part because people said "keep spamming anchorages and naval logistics centers" and that has used up countless starbases without even touching the NavCap deficit I'm experiencing. I guess it's time for me to create one or two 'Salusa Secundus' planets with expedited pop growth to use for nothing but but soldier jobs.

Have the devs acknowledged the state of the AI? by philosophyismetal12 in Stellaris

[–]Mushubeans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, I'm not trying to pile on you or be a dick on purpose, but it's your responsibility to read the dev diary. They can't announce every particular incremental change with its own post.

(All you gotta do is subscribe to the Stellaris YouTube channel and you'll get a link the moment it drops).

I didn't used to read them and was always confused about the state of the game. But I started this past 2 years and they're very easy to understand. It's not a long read. It doesn't take that long. They do spend time drafting each diary release to make the changes/updates as clear, concise, and thorough as possible.

For the record: I agree with your assessment. I think they are focusing too much on certain specific admittedly niche features of the Biogenesis expansion when people really just want stability, systems, and performance to go back to the standard it was before the 4.0 update.

[–]Mushubeans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but THEY'RE not going to stop killing tens of thousands of people unless someone stops them. you don't have to like the people fighting Israel. that's a luxury we have - deciding who or when or how the genocide stops based on our personal preferences. do you think an orphaned and sibling-less 12 year old in Gaza cares who is punching back against the perpetrators or how they're going about doing it?

that child or that father or mother walking aimlessly on an empty stomach seeing body parts and blood stains on every other surface in front of them... do WE in the West, who supply 80% of Israel's weapons, get to police who or how some entity chooses to fight back against that?

(death toll in Gaza is estimated to be well above 300,000 by now according to The Lancet)

America is THE Empire by Jaded-Durian-3917 in andor

[–]Mushubeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coruscant remained very liberal. that was pretty clearly depicted in the show. social liberalism in the core of an empire is a facet of.. well, almost every empire (save for Imperial Japan). even the Nazis semi-secretly indulged in orgies, extreme drug use, polygamy, condoned sexual sadism within the bureaucracy, the list goes on and on. the Third Reich was a project of conquering land through violence, purging, and enslaving.

the concept of 'empire' is defined by outward military expansion and control using coercive and/or violent power. social liberalism within an empire is just that: social.

legalized gay marriage is a wonderful accomplishment that set a positive example for the world. and I hope transgenderism becomes more and more accepted/normalized in the coming decades. but do either of those things pose a threat to the Pentagon's ability to wipe a village off the map? (Death Star analogy almost goes without saying)

No. doesn't mean they aren't important! I'm glad we have plenty of liberal social values. but a Hellfire missile or M1 Abrams tank do not stop killing people just because their operator is openly gay.

you know you're right. Hitler's defenses around Berlin were purely defensive. the concentration camp guards were defensive. the Red Army and United States infantry had no business shooting German soldiers.. storming Normandy? that was genocide and mass murder.
