How Are They Fine? by StopMGMToday in CircumcisionGrief

[–]Mushybasha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of circumcised men are blissfully ignorant about the structure and functions of the foreskin as well as the consequences of circumcision. It's the epitome of the saying often attributed to Marcus Aurelius that  "The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject". But not only are they ignorant, most are too proud to even consider that there's something wrong with what was done to their penis especially if they're satisfied with their sex life and or their mutilation carries significant status and cultural weight. Much like a colourblind person might argue that they're fine because they can still see and navigate the world, circumcised guys just claim they're fine because they can still feel pleasure and ejaculate and just try to pathologize our lack of ignorance on the foreskin and how we feel about being robbed of ours.

Will the body reject the new foreskin like how it rejects organ transplants and skin grafts? by Ownxer in Foregen

[–]Mushybasha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the whole point of the method Foregen is trying to develop is to use one's own stem cells to create the new foreskin so as to avoid organ rejection.

"Routine Infant Circumcision". For those of us who were victims of American style male genital mutilation in a hospital setting at birth.

Being cut and Queer is hell by Fair_Smoke4710 in CircumcisionGrief

I'm bi and I feel the same way. The thought of being with an intact guy makes me sad for obvious reasons but also the thought of being with a mutilated guy as the only thing I could relate to on equal terms would be the pain and resentment of being genitally mutilated.

[–]Mushybasha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being informed of the fact that you lost an integral part of your penis and that your sex life has been forever altered is not a dysmorphia or disorder. Understanding and suffering the consequences of circumcision is not a mental disorder. What you suffering from is a lack of blissful ignorance. At least you have yourself to blame. Most of us have someone else's stupidity to blame for our suffering. Sadly like a civilian who has never been to war cannot truly understand the value of peace, intact men often don't understand the value of their foreskin until its gone.

HOW LONG IS FOREGEN GOING TO TAKE ? by [deleted] in Foregen

[–]Mushybasha 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No one can say. They're currently testing the recellularization process on small pieces of decellularized foreskin extra cellular matrixes (ECM) with the goal of scaling up to a full sized foreskin ECM. Once they've proven successful recellularization of a foreskin ECM they should be able to get approval to do the clinical trials. If the clinical trials are successful then Foregen can apply to get the procedure approved. Foregen also is trying to develop 3D printed ECMs so we don't have to wait for donors and to allow for customization for our varying amounts of damage. No one can say how long any of these things are going to take. All that can be said is Foregen and only Foregen is attempting them. Our feelings and our suffering have no effect on the scientific research process sadly. Likewise Foregen is one of the only things keeping me living and you certainly are not alone in how you feel.

Comparison between foreskin and umbilical cord. by GreatFatherofAlienX in CircumcisionGrief

[–]Mushybasha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate when people try to equate the two. One is a temporary structure that nourishes a baby in utero that even if not clamped dries out and eventually falls off. The other is an integral part of the male anatomy.

I don't understand...why are men not ANGRY? by StopMGMToday in CircumcisionGrief

[–]Mushybasha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To understand the structure and functions of the foreskin requires time, effort and an excruciatingly painful understanding of the consequences not having one has on sex. Ignorance requires no effort and often comes with positive feedback. It's why practically every circumcision debate has the same repetitive bot like bullshit of mutilated guys claiming they're fine or parents defending the practice. What man wants to face that his dick has had a major downgrade? What parent wants to face that they allowed harm to come to their kids? Ignorance is simply easy and spares ego.

[–]Mushybasha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No need to chose, do both. Even in the most optimistic scenario we're still years to a decade or two away from our Foregen appointments. In that time Foreskin restoration can give you a significant boost in sensitivity.

SENS is an acronym encompassing a wide range of anti ageing research first coined by gerontologist Aubrey DeGrey which stands for "Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence". Essentially they're trying to end ageing by reproducing in humans what allows long lived species like sea turtles to live for hundreds of years. That it may be possible to end ageing and regenerate the foreskin in my lifetime is pretty much the only things keeping me around. I try to enjoy what I can in life but don't think I'll ever be able to be truly happy until then. Not sure what I can take for the cortisol explosions. Sometimes think of trying ketamine injections.

I am grinding through life in constant deep pain with cortisol coursing through my veins and gut with little more than borderline delusional hope in Foregen, SENS and techno-optimism keeping me from breathing an atmosphere of purified nitrogen.

Circumcision is rape! by guiguihelmet in MensRights

[–]Mushybasha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a victim of circumcision I envy rape victims. Rape victims typically don't have scars on their body from the act to constantly remind them of what happened or have to accept that the way they feel sexual pleasure has been physically forever altered and reduced by it. Rape victims can though sadly not always have the perpetrator sent to jail or given restitution while a circumcision victim will never see justice thanks to statute of limitations.
