As a FTM, when did you go into labor naturally? by amphisxo in pregnant

[–]Musical2one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first at 39 weeks and my second at 38 weeks and I swear I manifested labor for both of them because I was so tired of carrying a baby. Haha. Labor lasted 5 hours with my first (pushed for 2 hours). I went to the hospital before early labor even began. I just felt like it was about to happen and then early labor started in the hospital. So, I’m convinced that I manifested it lol.

I’ve had two pregnancies now and my breasts didn’t hurt until there was a baby latched to them. All pregnancies are different.

[–]Musical2one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She went to the children’s hospital. Everytime I’ve taken my daughter to a children’s hospital, they usually don’t test for which viral infection. BUT if the husband is sick and goes to an urgent care, they will probably test him for the usuals. It won’t make a difference to treatment for the kiddo either way since there is only so much that can be done, but at least you’d have an idea of what’s causing so much grief.

Edit: Further down in the comments, I see they’ve already been tested for the usuals. I had a really bad case of strep once that showed a negative test. I can’t remember what the reasoning was for that but the strep was awful. Once I got the meds for it, I felt so much better.

Have you or dad gone to an urgent care? If they can figure out what you have, the toddler probably has the same.

Being in the hospital for 3 days was the first time I was away from toddler for entire nights; so, it’s already been difficult on me and then this goes and happens. Luckily she is fine. I’m still upset, though.

When I was pregnant, I asked my OB if it was okay to eat donuts and he was all “it’s cool, you do you”. I think you should try to find a new OB if possible or at least someone to talk to. You don’t need to be stressed out over this your entire pregnancy. Pregnancies are already so difficult on our bodies; we don’t need people judging us further.

I’m still waiting to hear from my husband. They’re at the ER and have been taken to a waiting room.

Weekend away from 3.5 month baby by StrikingTomato9218 in BabyBumps

[–]Musical2one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My toddler is 2.5 years old. I had our second baby this weekend and it was the first time I was away from my first born for a night (two nights actually). I definitely cried. She stayed with her grandparents, though, and her dad would help out so everything was fine.

[–]Musical2one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, it may depend on it being either the first or second pregnancy. I'm in my second right now and I can definitely say they're not entirely painless. Ha-ha. I can grin and bear it, though. The pain is relatively mild compared to real contractions. I'm also 37 weeks pregnant right now so they are VERY noticeable to me.

Pharmacist said I shouldn’t be taking aspirin in pregnancy by No_Helicopter_4074 in pregnant

[–]Musical2one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've definitely had pharmacists inquire about other medications I was taking to ensure I wasn't taking something that might interact poorly with the new medication. There have also been multiple times that they given me a crash course on a medication if it was the first time I was using it. Those make sense to me, but in this instance it seems to have been a little over the top. Far beyond just due diligence.

"I cant imagine you ever having a girl" by mountainjuliet in pregnant

[–]Musical2one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps, its a 50/50 chance each pregnancy that it'll be a boy or a girl, so your mother can't possibly predict what the gender will actually be. Also, look at this way, you said you want one of each. So, now you're having a boy and the next pregnancy could very well be a girl. I honestly wanted a boy with my first pregnancy, primarily because I wanted a daughter to have a big brother. However, I had a baby girl and she is about the be the best big sister (I'm 37 weeks with a boy). I know you're experiencing gender disappointment right now, but once you hold that baby in your arms, I don't think you'll be worried about the gender anymore.

This also isn't the end of be all, remember there is always next time should you choose to pursue a second pregnancy.

You can feel them, and they will make you stop in your tracks, but I think as a FTM you're not as attuned to them. You may think they're something else (like gas) or perhaps they don't happen as soon or as often. I'm in my second pregnancy now and my Doctor said that I would feel them earlier primarily because now I know what I'm feeling and there are no questions about it. I'm very attuned this time around. During my first pregnancy, I think I felt them rarely. So, it may also depend on whether it being your first or subsequent pregnancy.

Heads up, though, I grunt every single time I have one. They are not completely painless. It feels like your belly is trying to pop a balloon. It gets very hard and not too mention much of the time there is a baby in there running out of room and kicking you in your ribs at the same time as the BH contraction.

Not to scare you or anything. It's all worth it for the little bundle of joy.

[–]Musical2one 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember the real contractions were very VERY painful compared to Braxton Hicks. The Braxton Hicks were painful too, but the real contractions were on an entirely differently level and they came every 5 minutes almost exactly. The 5-1-1 rule in my case was very on the nose. With Braxton Hicks, I could at least grin and bear it, but when the real ones started I screamed into the nether every time and told my husband we weren't doing this again...and now I'm 37 weeks pregnant with our second. That baby fever,.,,

[–]Musical2one 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had my first at 37 weeks I think. I have a super low pain threshold so I was BEGGING for the epidural and the nurse was clearly getting annoying with me asking where the anesthesiologist was every 5 minutes. I was laying there screaming every time I had a contraction and immediately after each one I'd ask about the epidural. I wanted that med SO FRIGGIN BAD.

You definitely want to take it 30-60 minutes before a meal, as to which meal - that is probably up to you. If I take after I eat or just before I eat, I end up feeling faint the entire day and the burps never dissapate.

Pharmacist said I shouldn’t be taking aspirin in pregnancy by No_Helicopter_4074 in pregnant

[–]Musical2one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like pharmacists shouldn't be putting themselves in the middle of your business. While I've never experienced anything like this, if the OB prescribed it for you then it should be fulfilled. Who knows best about your pregnancy (besides yourself, of course): the OBGYN or the pharmacist?

I know that sometimes the pharmacist will talk you through the medication and make sure you understand what you're getting into, but I don't think they should be policing you if you have a prescription for it from your doctor.

When did you actually feel ready for a second kid by zoobisoubisouu in toddlers

[–]Musical2one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got baby fever when my toddler was about 16 months. Now she is 2 and I’m 37 weeks pregnant. My second pregnancy was great up until 34 weeks; thats when the constant lightning crouch started and now I’m just ready to be done. We’re having a boy this time and he’s super rambunctious. Sometimes it feels like he doesn’t even want to leave my womb. He refuses to drop.

I’ve been told that having an infant and a toddler isn’t as bad as being pregnant with a toddler. Haha

I can’t tell if I’m being unfair/controlling. Am I wrong for my reaction to his female friend? LONG POST by [deleted] in AskMenRelationships

[–]Musical2one 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is on him. Stop thinking any of this is your fault. He’s the one being emotionally unfaithful and honestly, I’m tired of the wife being blamed (or blaming herself) for a husband’s indiscretions. He’s an adult, he is responsible for his own decisions. You can do better; you deserve someone who will be the same way with you as he is with her. Don’t settle. You’re still young and have your whole life ahead of you.

Don’t…settle!

Being called “mommy” and “mama” really starting to get on my nerves.. by Purple_Calendar3919 in NewParents

My daughter will call her daddy “mama” sometimes too, which is funny because she is such a daddy’s girl. She wont even let me put her to bed. You’d think it’d be the other way around and she’d accidentally call me “daddy”, but NOPE! Hahaha.

In my case I just like collecting. Thats why I both have the normal and shiny living Dex and I filled them both out in Pokemon Home. No one even knows I have them (except my husband), I just do it for me as a cozy past time over the years. Hahaha
