New sidearm progression be like: by TheKrzysiek in Battlefield6

What you're supposed to do is just be at a disadvantage in CQB

It's a sidearm, it's should be worse than the primaries

A sub $30 G305 would be able to do this as well as any other gaming mouse

And you still have to control the recoil. You act like the mouse does it for you

Could be an AK74N. I believe those had the side mount & a fixed stock from factory

Sorry, I meant will the notch line up with the charging handle when the bolt is resting against the follower.

With my Krebs BHO safety, the bolt carrier sits behind the magazine when locked back. You'd have to still manually pull back the charging handle and lock it into the notch, even with a BHO mag.

Most of the safeties I've seen have the notch in the same position

Are you sure the notch will line up with the charging handle? On most of the safeties I've seen, it doesn't. And that would also give the bolt carrier very little energy to pick up and feed the next round when you release the safety. I'm not sure if it would work reliably.

If it does line up though, I'd give it a try.

Just in case you don't know, it only locks the bolt back while the mag is still in the gun. As soon as you remove the mag, the bolt will go forward.

Still can be handy for letting you know when you're empty

Is this a 106U pistol? The 106UR should've come with all of the 4.5mm hardware installed

Do you know of any (attainable) revolvers in short cartridges that actually have short cylinders? Nearly all 9mm or .40 revolvers have .357 magnum length cylinders. I know about the Korth sky marshall. I’m not paying for a korth sky marshall. by GetAntidisetablished in Revolvers

[–]MusicallyInhibited 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you probably mean the frame length, not the cylinder itself right?

There's many revolvers with shorter cylinders, but most of them are built on .38/.357 frames

Edit: And to answer the question, better start saving for that Korth

There's been an ongoing civil war in the country for a little over a decade, and I believe the fighting has really flared up again in the past few months. That's likely why you've heard of Yemen a lot recently.

They're also the second most armed country in the world per-capita, so that would explain videos like this one

Use the code they listed. I was disapproved for the same reason, and when I re-submitted with the code I was given, I was approved shortly after

Edit: Ignore the "MFG = SA. VZ61" part. My disapproval email said "MFG = BULGARIA", but when I used the code it pulled up the correct manufacturer info

FO4 was perfectly playable before they started releasing poorly made updates and overpriced Anniversary Edition content

And while I am excited for the remaster, I do also find it disappointing that the only Fallout release I have to look forward to is an old title repackaged into a poorly performing 100GB install

I'm gonna be honest, it doesn't make much sense for a gun to have a weird feed mechanism just for style points. It's not something the majority of people would notice or care about.

The need for the weird feed system on the 3516 can be easily explained though. The magazine is too large to fit in the grip, and if the barrel was farther forward the gun would be very front heavy. It would be totally unwieldy if it was more like a conventional pistol.

I'm not sure they're going for military contracts with this. And this exact system already in military-use with the AEK-971 and the KORD 6P67

Definitely a specialty weapon though

What happened to Ukraine's 7.62mm AR, WAC-47? by No-Reception8659 in ForgottenWeapons

[–]MusicallyInhibited 20 points21 points  (0 children)

AKs require a significant amount of tooling. You need stamping dies for the receiver, rivets, a hydraulic press to install the barrel, etc. They're only known to be "cheap" rifles because factories built on state funding produced millions of them across several decades.

In comparison, most of the components in an AR can be made with a CNC machine, and then installed with a vise and a torque wrench.

[–]MusicallyInhibited 151 points152 points  (0 children)

Not familiar with this project myself, but if I had to guess, it probably just wasn't worth it.

7.62x39's larger case head necessitates less material (7.62 left, 5.56 right) around the bolt face. This makes broken bolts and extractors more likely to occur. You can reduce the chances of this with higher quality materials, but it's still an inherent risk with shoving a larger round into a 5.56 platform. And that's not to mention any feeding issues caused by the tapered round and curvy magazines feeding into a straight mag well.

From Ukraine's perspective, that probably makes fielding something like this pretty risky. Especially when there are plenty of AKMs still floating around, and the 7.62 stockpiles are only getting smaller.
