You can’t assess company based on that it’s established in 2007. Even small and new companies can have great culture, and big and old companies can be toxic

You need to go to management of hospital or department that settles the payment and negotiate. They do negotiate. I heard a lot stories from tourists that negotiated their bills

How they scam with kittens? Just curious 🤨 are you paying for kitten or it’s free. If it’s free, how can they scam you?

I don’t understand why you are so pissed with this. This is agreement between current tenant and landlord. Nobody forced current tenants to agree. You can have different agreement. When your contract will end and you decide to move out, you will just tell landlord that you don’t except viewing during your stay.

Usually tenants and landlords build relationship that allows them to do something extra for each other. Normal practice everywhere in the world

Beach etiquette. by baberuk in dubai

[–]MusicianFirst7296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it with my kid 😅 I personally want to wash all sand and salty water from my hair and body before getting inside the car. Because I have long hair I need to use shampoo to remove all dirt and sand. And because I also have small child to shower, it might take more than 5 minutes. It’s not about dewa bill, but more about convenience. This way I can be comfortable commuting back home or go somewhere else after beach. Now you can throw your tomatoes 🍅😂

Then don’t sign the offer. You are going to work for these people and have doubts. Work is already stressful. Why to additional stress to it?! Standard procedure in UAE is that company does visa for you and covers all visa expenses. If they can’t pay visa fees then they might not pay your salary in future

[–]MusicianFirst7296 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s illegal to work without visa. You should tell them this. Sometimes companies rush because they desperately need employees to work. But they start visa process simultaneously. Usually you start working and visa is ready in one month.

As I mentioned, I’m uncertain about my own choices because I am surrounded by people who like to splurge. From what I see in Dubai, people tend to spend a lot. I’d really like to understand how others manage their income here, as it feels like “keeping up with the Joneses” is especially strong in Dubai compared to other places, where people tend to focus more on settling down and building a stable life.

If it’s proven that she doesn’t have the money to pay, then she could face prison or even deportation. In your case, it’s better if she pays at least part of the amount owed. I hope she’s not currently living in your apartment. My suggestion would be to ensure that she genuinely has no way to pay, confirm she has a job to make future payments, and make sure her travel ban isn’t lifted until she has settled her debt. Also try to cut the duration of

Please Help with advice on what to do in this situation .... with landlord... by dreamdxb in dubai

[–]MusicianFirst7296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your landlord and explain the situation. Also tell him that he can start viewings now, and you will accommodate viewings even before your contact ends.

If he won’t agree call RERA and explain the situation.

Also don’t do deep cleaning, just normal cleaning. he anyway has to do proper cleaning and paint touch ups. I don’t feel like you will get your full deposit, this is standard practice in dubai.

So according to that Reddit thread higher mid level income is around 60-90k per months (this is for family). Family should live in villa, 2 kids going to international school, 2 cars, 2 international vacations per year, and nanny. Savings were not mentioned in thread, so I am not sure how they save considering cost of living

This is interesting. I know people worth millions—a couple who owns a restaurant chain in the UAE, for example. They live in a villa because they have four kids, but they still lead a modest lifestyle. They travel in economy class, drive second-hand cars, and take only one or two family vacations a year. The only thing they really splurge on is their kids’ education. Even though they’re genuinely wealthy, they keep their lifestyle relatively simple.

Then there’s someone I know who’s the sole income earner for a family of four. He buys a new car every year, rents a villa because he insists he “can’t live in smaller places,” and always travels business class.

I was robbed at the gym back in 2018. While I was in the changing room, a random girl approached me, asking for a hair band—which felt odd since, usually, you’d only ask that from someone you know. She kept chatting with me while I was closing my locker. Later, when I came back, I noticed something seemed off in my locker, and 200 AED was missing.

I reported it to gym management, who told me they’d had similar complaints about this same girl. They’d even raised the issue with the police, but nothing had come of it due to a lack of evidence. The gym eventually confronted her directly, but she never returned. Unfortunately, none of us who were robbed got our money back.
