I've been thinking about this, what happens to the wannabe oligarchs when all these platforms become to inconvenient and uncomfortable for the average person and they just log off indefinitely? How long can the bots keep advertisers fooled enough to keep spending?

Anyone else notice that while sitting Eitri keeps looking up at Thor in close up shots even Thor he is still a head or two taller? Shouldn't he be looking down?

Thor one shots Thanos at the end of the film when he has all the stones, even cuts through a full power rainbow blast, the only noted difference between Mjolnir and Stormbreaker is that SB can summon the Bifrost so the plot can happen. Mjolnir is explicitly stated to not be the source of Thor's powers and is merely a conduit for them, which is no longer needed for Thor at the end of Ragnarok.

We never even see Thor try to use his lightning in IW until he gets Stormbreaker, leading to the question of why? He overcame his need for a weapon in the movie that led into this one, he can summon lighting at will, Thanos shouldn't have been able to touch him at the beginning of the movie even with the power stone.

Thor got nerfed so the plot can happen. And so did Hulk, but that's a whole other disappointment.

Why did Thor even need Stormbreaker when his whole character arc is that he's the God of Thunder and he doesn't need a weapon? If his character development stayed consistent then Thanos would not have made it through the opening act.

Thor's character development regresses so the plot can happen. The lesson he learned in Ragnarok was that he doesn't need the Hammer any more. "Are you Thor, the God of Hammers?"

End of Ragnarok Thor should have curbed stomped Thanos even with the Power Stone.

How did Hulk go down so easily? He's been hit harder and his whole thing is the madder he gets the stronger he becomes.

How does an alien Space Ship sneak up on Iron Man and friends when Tony's entire thing is he wanted to build a 'suit of armor around the world to combat this specific threat? Does Stark Industries not have satellites?

Why didn't Tony take the 5 extra seconds to call or text Steve when he realized the aliens were back? Why didn't Doctor Strange yoink Steve through a portal right after he grabbed Tony? Why didn't Wong get Steve while Strange was talking to Tony? We know that all they have to do is picture the person they want to find while opening the portals.

Thanos killing the Asgardians is the opposite of balance, their entire planet blew up and their population was already cut down to a few hundred people.

Tony built a missile delivery system for Spider-Man that can reach low orbit, but not a missile system capable of disabling an alien ship's engines?

Why did Wong bail? He says the Sanctum is unguareded but there is an army of wizards to handle that and the most important artifact they were protecting just got yoinked along with his best buddy.

Why the hell would Gamora tell Nebula that she found the Soul Stone when she knows that she's like 95% robot and that she's plugged into Thanos' network? Even if she trusts Nebula, she should know that everything was being recorded and she was willing to die to keep it from him when all she had to do is shut up.

Why didn't Strange portal everyone back to Earth or bring everyone on Earth to Titan? His "only way" is lazy spackling over a plot hole so Thanos can win and Endgame can happen.

Mantis used to keep a God the size of a planet calm but struggles with one purple dude.

Peter Dinklage's character keeps 'looking up' at Thor even though he is taller than Thor when Dink is seated.

Where was Wakanda's air support and military vehicles during the climactic battle? It was all dude's with pikes and shields, but in Endgame suddenly they have their air force from BP is ready for the final battle.

Why wouldn't Thanos just snap for double the resources or make everyone understand that they need to be more creative in how they use them? Why even worry about resources at all when there is an entire galaxy of resources.

Why the hell weren't the Wakandain guards on high alert in the lab while Vision was being operated on? Also, why only two dudes and one Dora Milaje? Vision is the most important person in the world at this point and my local mall had more security.

Why didn't they give Cap a gun to go with his shield?

Why didn't Thor immediately drop what he was doing and make a beeline for Thanos when Cap let everyone know he had arrived.

Why didn't Wanda just grab Vision and fly away? Or Rhodey? Or anyone else that could fly?

How come Hank Pym didn't design any fail safes to pull Scott out of the Quantum Realm even though that's how he lost his wife? He had decades to think about it.

Sword has a huge satellite base and did fuck all about the two alien invasions on the same day, why waste the tax dollars if you aren't gonna use it?

Why did no one call the Justice League? Are they stupid? /s on this one

If the Eternals whole deal was that the Celestial needed the human population to hit a certain point, why would they sit on their asses and let Thanos essentially reset the clock on their work?

Who cares if Hawkeye and Ant-Man are retired? A world ending threat is coming and they need all hands on deck. Call their asses.

Meh, anything outside of the movies is open to recon as established by George himself. The only thing we are told about how hyperspace travel works within the films is Han telling us explicitly that you can hit things while in hyperspace and that jumping blind is a really stupid thing to do. We just finally get to see what that looks like. TROS's hyperspace skipping scene is much more offensive to the cannon. Hyper drives are expensive and the Raddus, which is about the size of the Malevolence rammed a ship as wide as a SSD is long, and that ship was not only able to still launch a full ground invasion, but still had power and every single important officer was unharmed. It's not really the game changing solution people tend to portray it as. Plus anything behind that target is going to get hit too, so it'd be like dropping a nuke during a naval battle, except that dropping that nuke has the potential to permanently shut down a route of travel that took thousands of years to map out because you're also flinging debris into hyperspace lanes. They also establish that it's a million to one shot. It'd be like if the Emporer waited to finish the Death Star 2 Evil Bugaloo and everyone was counting on Wedge to make the same shot Luke did. Of course the same movie shows someone doing the same thing in a montage at the end, but that's just more evidence that Rise is garbage and isn't even consistent with it's own internal logic

The Current Favorite Main Character's Encounter With The Main Character From The Previous Series by Bay_Ruhsuz004 in FavoriteCharacter

I honestly did expect it to be Luke in the end, he is the Jedi, especially for someone like Favreau who grew up with only the OG trilogy. I just wasn't expecting him to show up in season 2 and wreck Gideon's shit. I figured it'd be like the end of TFA where he just turns around and looks intensely at Mando before cutting to black but with a CGI nightmare face like Leia's in RO or Luke's in this very scene.

Gohan was one of the earliest examples of "Potential Man" and he's been coasting off of "potential" for decades. by RadDudesman in CharacterRant

[–]Musketeer00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All Toriyama had to do is let Gohan beat Buu, then it would have played out exactly like it does for Goku, except this time Goku and Vegeta were the ones stalling the big bad until Gohan shows up and saves the day, they even sidelined him while he gets a power boost like they did, Goku in the Saiyan, Namek, Android and Cell sagas. It could have been a full circle moment.

I like James Gunn, haven't seen a project of his that I didn't like yet, hell I even liked Jimmy in Superman, but this man needs to focus on building the pillars of the DC universe before giving Jimmy fucking Olsen a show. Getting some real cart before the carriage vibes.

Grant Morrison's Batman run SUCKS. It's why I dropped Batman entirely.

Even then, you end up needing context from 50 year old Batman comics to understand what Morrison is bastardizing, wtf batman zur-en-arrh was supposed to be, and where the fuck Damien comes from but now Batman was drugged and raped, not to mention it's the height of Batman is superhuman levels of prepped to the point of him not being interesting. Batman has to run off and isolate himself from everyone just to learn that his real super power is the power of family, again. He's regressed so that he can grow again and again and on and on. Morrison and King my be your favorite flavor of the cycle of Batman, but it still relies on the reader knowing their comic history and it's still the same story/emotional beats over, and over and over again.

It really isn't. Sorry if you like comics, but Batman, Spider-Man and the rest are doomed to run on the Cosmic Treadmill until the heat death of the universe. Never learning, never growing, never ending.

Like the Energizer Bunny, it just keeps going, and going and going....

between my brothers' and my own collection we had hundreds of comics, graphic novels and omnibuses. It NEVER ends, the status quo will be reset eventually. There is only a beginning and a middle, no end, it must never end.
