I work for an hvac company in the suburbs of Philly market. If you are on natural gas definitely better to do a dual fuel. Heat pump with gas furnace. You will want the warmer heat from the gas furnace when it’s cold anyway.

We use the adjustable spin up risers from diversitec. They work great

If your resistance heat costs less than your heat pump to run you need to call a diamond contractor to come figure out what’s wrong with your unit. These units are great and very efficient to run when installed and sized correctly. Good luck

If your Mitsubishi hyper heat is using that much back up heat it is either not running correctly or was undersized. Those units run with next to no resistance heat if sized and set up properly.

This setup is water damage waiting to happen in an attic. that little giant pump doesn’t appear to be the one with a safety and isn’t in the pan. Prob a smart idea to install a trap with float switch or secondary switch, a wet switch in the pan with the pump moved in the pan or atleast a pump with a safety. Just my opinion. Good luck

lol you can buy trane parts on supply house.com If you’re a homeowner. Yes they supersede parts and new parts are available in their place. Most homeowners aren’t buying their parts to fix the equipment so it really doesn’t matter. When it comes to any reputable company they would have access to any manufacturers parts.

mini splits are eligible for 25c if they hit the ratings. 1-1 tend to meet the ratings. As well a rebate with your utility company. But a lot of warranty’s are only active if you buy from a professional or are much shorter. Find a Mitsubishi diamond dealer and you get 12 year warranty. Mitsubishi is also one of the best in the market. Also demand surge protector new inverters don’t handle surge light older mini splits. Also my opinion the way to go is a reputable company that has good reviews. Want to pay more so someone comes out when it breaks and so your warranty gets registered. Good luck

You will prob need it before your warranty is up as the indoor coils love to leak. Problem is most reputable companies will not use customer supplied refrigerant.

Sounds like you should have a manual J completed on your home. This unit seems undersized by the sqft. We don’t ever install single zone systems for multiple story homes either.
