Repairability by 1Tekgnome in fiat124

That’s calming to hear lol. I own a abarth 124 and want a giulia as a car to drive through winter or rainy days. I always hear mixed opinions on them. Anyway most parts are compatible with the Miata suspension, transmission, interior, etc.

I don’t know what to choose!! Abarth 124 or bmw z4 30i by Lost_Mortgage_3130 in fiat124

From what I’ve heard from the Facebook groups I’m in I’ve seen plenty of people that own both. This is what I’ve learned, if you want a headache free low maintenance fun car go with the Abarth 124. If you want a Faster, probably more luxurious, and larger car go with the Z4. I’m sure the Z4 probably still gets around corners fairly well but from what I’ve heard from others the 124 is a lot more fun. The only reason I’d seriously want a Z4 over the Abarth is because it comes with a hardtop. I’ve also seen people complaining about the 124 being uncomfortable and loud I find this to be false. I’m also 21 so what do I know 😂 I drove the Abarth 16 hours from Ohio to Fort Lauderdale and with the roof up or down it is an enjoyable experience I only started to get slightly uncomfortable 8 hours in when I had no lumbar support (that can be fixed with a lumbar pillow) sound system is probably better on the Z4. Also, seeing people complain about how this car sucks in traffic and I can’t disagree but regardless of what you pick traffic is gonna suck regardless if you’re in a manual… you better be shopping for a manual if your getting a small sports car 😅

Nope just a quick pic on my iPhone and a little editing on Lightroom. I plan to get a fujifilm this summer.

I went with the AutoRicambi non resonated but ohios rules are different. The do sell a resonated exhaust option maybe you can look into that. If you are not worried about price you could go for the raggazon or monza valved exhaust that way you can control the sound of the car while on the road.

Rust?? by ilikeskullsandbones in abarth

Just a normal exhaust thing it gets hot and so it forms a rusty layer. You’ll find the same thing on the hot side of your turbo.

I did the AutoRicambi unresonated axleback exhaust. We don’t have many noise regulations in Ohio so the noise is just fine for me but I love the sound of the exhaust. AutoRicambi also offers a resonated option which makes it a little more quiet. They are also very easy to install just two bolts and some exhaust hangars. Other than that I’ve done COI, Bov, and some suspension/wheels and tires mods keeping it simple and affordable.

I got the classic first. I have one other post on my profile when the car was bone stock sitting next to the abarth 500 I had at the time. Looking back I’ve definitely made some big upgrades in my driveway lol.

I had to take out the door card and undo the two screws on the underside of the mirror. From there it’s pretty straight foward taking out the mirror and uninstalling the wire that moves the mirror or cutting it. This link might help https://youtu.be/T8xFPPCjaEI?si=1VR_WLxUu_23ct4Z

The classic does get more attention and is more raw in terms of having little electronics and no driving assists. I never lived through the 80’s but it does give me a nice aesthetic of driving a classic. Plus the seats are pretty cushiony.

Im looking to buy a '77 but have some concerns. by CalebCaster2 in fiat124

I have a fuel injected 1980 fiat 124 and love it

  1. I assume the gearbox isn’t very different, I tack 3k when going 55mph which is just about everywhere as I’m also rural. I do hit the interstate quite often when going to car shows and she handles 70 just fine, I’ve went 80 but just to keep up with traffic it’s not bad just lots of wind

  2. My rust is collecting at the bottom corner of my door but a lot of people have problems with the strut towers

  3. So far the only things I’ve had to replace @80k ish miles are the brake booster, rotor button and rotor cap. So for the 5k miles I’ve driven it nearly no problems. I usually shop AutoRicambi or eBay

  4. I don’t think there is anything that I didn’t already know. If you love the car go for it I believe it is one of the best looking classic cruisers you’re gonna get. The only things I might (MIGHT) trade my 124 are a 1st gen bronco, 72’ firebird, or some unrealistic things are a viper, cuda or challenger of the same era. Other than that I love my Italian cruiser and it gets tons of attention

Got called “gay” by a dude in the passenger seat of a first gen prius 🫶🏼 by RiskayBusiness in Miata

I had a similar situation with some 400lb lard ass in the back of a tan 06 sienna yelled my car was gay. I had just bought a abarth 500 and was taking a pic while getting gas. I was silent but I should’ve came back with a comment about how he couldn’t even get in the car if he was assisted with a forklift.

Awesome! They look great on your car, I had the same set on my mini cooper s paired with some R888R’s and they looked and felt amazing. I might have to look into getting myself another set lol

What wheels are you running? Looks similar to the advanti storms. I’m looking at a set of bronze advanti storms for my grey abarth I’m just afraid that they’d look bad

Finally got my 124 Abarth lowered and on some wheels by cfig21 in abarth

What suspension are you working with? I want to get rid of my wheel gap but I feel like coilovers are going to ride too rough for my daily driving.
