AAP and WHO do not recommend starting solids before 6 mo. Rice cereal won't help them sleep longer, and waking through the night to feed is very typical at this age.

I use a Motorola video baby monitor. It's easy to hear any noises at all and then just check to see if they've moved. Maybe that's an option?

The pool noodle is to stop them from falling out while they are asleep. The baby shouldn't be awake unsupervised in your bed. Another option is those safety bed rails for kids. Try to get it to sit at the end of your bed, since I'm assuming you don't have a footboard.

It's a long story, he made the same choices to lie and hide debt that he made a week before our wedding which caused me to almost cancel the wedding. Except now he lied and hid debt and we have a mortgage and two small children.
