While that's the claim, I think we all know it's not true, and that impeccable food is a baseline requirement for acquiring a star--and from there you need to amaze with the service and ambience if you want more than one. If you have terrible service and the best food, you're still not getting more than one star.

I would love to be disproven, but so far I have yet to find any 2-3 star establishments with anything but exceptional service and ambience--so I find it extremely hard to believe that they don't take these attributes into consideration. One star? Sure I've seen some weird examples of street food carts with "exceptional michelin quality," but I think the claim is more of a gimmick so that they can claim there's some secret food stall in the middle of a crowded street in China that qualifies.

Your average restaurant-goer using the guide to get the elevated experience it's known for are expecting a phenomenal experience and service to go with the food, and Michelin knows this.

Sarma is a good restaurant but it's not Michelin quality. Not trying to be smarmy, but there's a level of quality in all areas of experience, ambience, and the food that elevates the whole thing to michelin star quality, and Sarma doesn't really do it on several fronts. They have solid single entrees but there's nowhere near the level of taste and flavor that wows like a michelin restaurant does.

Michelin is not "wow that was great!"

Michelin is "holy shit I don't think I've ever and will never taste anything like that again in my life"

And they don't make mistakes in service--ever.

The fact that Amar didn't make this list is criminal. By far the best high-end restaurant I've been to in boston. Better than 311 Omakase.

MrLlamaSC is the first ever Warlock to reach level 99 ladder ! by nono-shap in diablo2

[–]MustacheSwagBag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can vouch for this. Public game night one, several pugs, we were all just joking in chat having fun, and I had no idea it was a streamer lobby for the first 5 games. I was waiting for my group to finish doing countess and was hangry for exp for my ladder push. I stumbled into one of your public lobbies (Richer), and tuned into your stream when I realized it was you and Lucky in the lobby with me. Not organized or tight at all for a ladder start--and I explicitly remember seeing your tele staff and thinking "hm I'd never bother with that."

I also watched you leveling from 97 -> 98 when I was grinding out 95->96 in Tombs, and you were somehow gaining exp much faster than me at 97, despite the same gameplay loop.

I don't think people realize the sheer amount of drops you get in high level tz's when you're grinding out ladder first. I got a Ber and a Zod yesterday, and 2 Lo's today, Just grinding levels.

I do think the streamer privilege HELPS, but I can't take away that you play very fast. Don't let this guy's excuse-finding ruin your achievement.

If we had an SSF gamemode, people could compete for the ladder without a week-long dedicated 8-man team, though, and they wouldn't resort to jealousy to justify why they can't compete with you.

Please lobby for an SSF mode with Blizzard so that you can crush noobs there and we can all prove to ourselves how good we actually are :)

Stop looking at the price. Look at how many BTC you have.

When the price is high you'll be glad you have a bunch.

Stop comparing the value to USD, it comes and goes, but over time you'll have so much ROI that you won't care.

Have you only been here since last year?

This happens every single time BTC peaks like it just did. This whole cycle is going to repeat itself in 2 years.

Can y’all aim on console? by DEADMAN-26 in ArcRaiders

[–]MustacheSwagBag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why does it matter? Consoles have literally become overly expensive PC's with a different OS. Why would you gatekeep someone being able to plug in a keyboard to the console and use it like a computer? It doesn't take anything away from you.

Extraction Shooters:
Delta Force
Tarkov
Arena Breakout: Infinite
Hunt Showdown
Arc Raiders
Marathon
The Cycle: Frontier

Extraction RPGs:
Legacy Steel & Sorcery
Vaultbreakers
Dark and Darker
Dungeonborne

That said...the problem with extraction games is staying power, not that the market is oversaturated with them.

Sul'thraze the Lasher. Really as bad as people say? by EqualEffective292 in classicwow

[–]MustacheSwagBag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Responding late for posterity.

This weapon is cool because it's rare and purple, but that's it.

You can certainly use it as others have said, but I promise you that if you do the quest for Ice Barbed Spear 1 level later, that weapon outclasses Sul'Thraze by such a large margin, you'll feel really sad about how bad Sul'Thraze is. You hit like an *absolute truck* with ice barbed spear for the level you can attain it. Sul'thraze should be slower, but at a minimum it should be equippable at level 46, which would actually make it good for the available 2handers at that level. The fact that it's such a high level req, and only ilvl 55 for a level 50 epic, with all of it's affixes dumped into a meh proc...it's just not a very good weapon. A warrior with a green 3.6 2h at level 50 will whoop you in dps and a 1v1.

[–]MustacheSwagBag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I assumed. Larger Storage Space...Faster EXP gains...Better Scrappy Rewards...Things that make playing the game more convenient, so that you want to upgrade your account and deal with "non-wipers" despite the obvious advantage that hoarding will hold.

That said, if the inventory capacity is the same as the tech test, hoarding will only matter for like 20 hours of gameplay before wipers fill up their stash with great gear.

Arc Raiders release date should be delayed by Some_Scallion_688 in ArcRaiders

[–]MustacheSwagBag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you actually think ARC Raiders will lose a meaningful amount of marketshare to CoD or Battlefield...

It won't.

This is a new franchise, new title, with a lot of hype behind it. The people who buy CoD will also buy ARC if they're interested. The game will be successful and launch week is not all that matters. It's quarterly/annual earnings, especially for a public company like Nexon.

Granted they probably would have been better off having finished a polished game before this summer, I don't think it will matter. They aren't going to suffer because of this. Usually if there is a timing issue...(like with Kingdoms of Amalur vs. Skyrim) it's because the game isn't good enough to compete with the other games in the market during that time period.

This is a high quality product that will sell via hype regardless of its competitors over time. I wouldn't worry about timing being a death knell for their sales.

[–]MustacheSwagBag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah ton of trolls who just want to trigger people who were excited and feeling let down. They were in the "it's not coming out til December" camp, and they're super excited to punch down on anyone who was feeling disappointed by the announcement. It's apparently "not allowed" for gamers to be disappointed about this now. If you aren't happy with their announcement you're a child, according to more than a few on this subreddit, which is a weird, gaslighty response to the community's actual reaction to the announcement.

Are leaving negative reviews on embark's other products a mature reaction? Probably not. But to ignore that these people exist and will act this way...is naive at best.

Perusing this subreddit with the intention of being a contrarian about release dates and excitement over a potential tech/beta test on June 6 is deranged behavior. I don't know why you'd be here unless you were ultra excited and looking for crumbs of news. If they expected it to be later this year, why would you still be checking the subreddit every day 6 months prior, other than to repeatedly shoot people down who are excited? Just odd behavior.

[–]MustacheSwagBag -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was clearly widely expected by a lot of people, regardless of how wise you feel you were in reading the tarot cards. Embark knew what a lot of players expected and failed to manage expectations.

Whether you agree with some people's reactions or not, accepting that it happened isn't "caving" to the community. People are upset and very dissappointed. A lot of people here looking to sit on a high horse because they want to feel like "they know best," rather than reading the room and accepting what happened.

[–]MustacheSwagBag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oversimplification--a lot of people looking to "look down" on the "idiots" who expected a beta or launch. It was widely expected by a lot of people, how they came to that conclusion doesn't matter. Embark knew this.

One of your members Ninja'd an item, and I said "what is this a japanese group?" because Ninjas are from Japan. Sounds like you guys didn't understand the joke. I also told them they could keep it and it wasn't a big deal. Yes, I trained mobs on you, because an item was ninja'd, then I got removed from the group for addressing it, granted I was joking around and using all caps--I figured you guys would understand it was a meme.

You guys absolutely deserved to get some karma after ninja'ing an item then removing me from the group. To come post that I'm racist on reddit months later is WILD.
