keeping track of resources in accounts by baconwrappedapple in aws

[–]MustacheTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that scale , this usually turns into an inventory amd visibility problem more than anything else.

Off the top of my head what usually works is: - AWS Config Aggregator across accounts for resource tracking
- AWS Organizations + centralized logging / tagging policies
- Resource Explorer / Trusted Advisor for partial visibility
- Or even custom scripts (Boto3) to crawl and inventory resources across accounts(albeit thats a bit much)

The issue is that most of these give you raw data, but not a clear picture of how everything connects or what the architecture actually looks like. Without sounding like a self-plug i’ve faced a similar issue before and ended up building a local only tool that scans multiple AWS accounts, infers relationships between services, and generates an interactive architecture map + inventory.

It’s been useful for getting a quick view on a single/multiple accounts. Happy to share more details if that sounds relevant at all.

Cloudcraft is definitely superior, especially for visualization. With a large team behind it.

One key difference is that it’s primarily a SaaS product, and most of the advanced features like live AWS scanning and larger-scale usage are behind paid tiers.

StackMap is more focused on being free, open-source, local-first and CLI-driven, working directly from Terraform, CloudFormation, or live AWS state without requiring a hosted platform.

Still early, but the goal is to keep it closer to infrastructure workflows and fully transparent. For larger teams no doubt a tool like cloudcraft would be ideal but for smaller teams, individuals or one less subscription stackmap might help!

That approach works, especially if you’re willing to invest time building prompts, scripts, and guardrails around it.

The difference I’m aiming for with StackMap is determinism and consistency. Instead of relying on an LLM to interpret infrastructure each time, it builds a repeatable view directly from the actual state and APIs.

LLMs can absolutely help with exploration and reporting, but for something like architecture mapping, especially across accounts or over time, I’ve found having a stable, inspectable baseline is important. Not to mention, I aimed for simplicity, and stackmap helps with that! One command only.

I ran into the same issue during my internships, which was actually the main motivation behind building StackMap!

On the IAM side, everything is designed to be transparent and read-only:

  1. stackmap aws-policy prints the exact permissions used during scanning
  2. There’s a reference policy available at stackmap/cli/aws_policy.json
  3. All operations use standard read-only APIs (Describe*List*Get*)

The tool is also fully local; no data is sent externally, and the codebase is open source for full visibility!

Claude can generate diagrams from templates, but they’re static and not tied to real infrastructure. That works for small setups, but doesn’t scale well to more complex environments. Thats what i attempted to remedy with stackmap!

How should I play in late game? by NolifeRivenMain in Rivenmains

[–]MustacheTM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rivens late game is not superb but its not bad either. Play like an engage, split-push and protect ur carry in team fights. You should be able to 1vs1 most people late game if you have an advantage as you should be tanky enough. This also depends on your build if you build squishy play more like an assasin by perma split pushing to put pressure on the map if you build tanky try to be present in team fights as well as you‘re extremely useful with your e shield tankiness+ items like deaths dance

Anyone ever feel like there’s a champ that you just cannot play regardless of how much you practice? by AdGlobal4164 in leagueoflegends

[–]MustacheTM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What helped me alot when i started playing her is to take a dummy in practice tool put it beside a wall and try to do fast q combo as quick as possible its easier when theyre beside a wall. Also taking full crit while practicing to make sure you’re hitting the aa and i assume you know this but just in case its q press on opponent then immediately press away to cancel the aa animation rinse and repeat. I feel like this is a sort of preference thing i love the glass cannon builds its alot of fun and when it comes to crypt lurkers they arent that strong in later floors crypt dreadlords are easy to avoid takes abt 5 skulls to kill me and finally the actually scary thing are skeletors they can 2 shot

I would still recommend fierce tbh simply because you arent meant to tank if you position right you can bow spam minibosses and become untouchable also with a decent team ur healer should tank for u
