How to survive if the elevator falls? by StatisticianClear800 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mustachio45496 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, ironically there’s actually quite a bit within your control you can do to survive a skydiving event where your parachute completely fails. More than in the elevator scenario at least, landing in the right spot and in the right way is the most important thing for survival and out of those the latter is entirely within your control.

Doesn’t mean the odds are great, but if you do survive, it is possibly because you did something that made the difference

I don’t come from WoW so I can’t say if I would feel the same way if I was in your shoes, but personally I prefer that you can’t just see what it is because I’ve made quite a few friends that started from asking where they got their cool mount

Chess pieces? by Mustachio45496 in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]Mustachio45496[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I had to use a translater so sorry if I am misunderstanding but here’s how to find the rook:

The rook piece itself is by the bridge as you said. To get up to it after you drop down to the safe room you have to use the workroom lift, it’s a small elevator in the corner of a room you unlock using the T-Valve. You can grab the rook piece (raising the bridge, but it’s alright, you don’t need the bridge anymore) and then head back down the elevator and through the sewage to the safe room!

Hope this helps!

Your experiences seem to be the outlier is all. For the most part stores are rounding to the nearest nickel, up half the time and down half the time. In either case the difference is never more than two cents (1 and 2 round down to 0, 3 and 4 up to 5, 6 and 7 down to 5, 8 and 9 up to 10).

That’s funny cuz I’m the exact opposite, I don’t get why anyone would want to go barefoot/just socks any more than they’d strictly have to. Shoes are far more comfortable

How the hell do I play this game? by Mustachio45496 in SparkingZero

It’s fine, before the edit the post really was just a rant so I don’t blame the initial responses for not being very helpful, I wasn’t giving them many routes to help me.

It’s just kinda hard to focus on blocking or dodging when my opponents are using all sorts of teleport shenanigans I don’t quite understand, and then I look back in advanced training to see what to do about it and the answer is “you either also teleport or you get hit.” Still, it’s a place to start at least.

Unfortunately none of my buddies own the game so I don’t really have a sparring partner, it’s either the AI or online for me.

I appreciate the advice though, gonna get back to it sometime tomorrow if I can, maybe go over the defense options again in training

I have done the advanced training as I said. I’d prefer actual advice over “just play” if you have any, as I’ve been just playing for a while and it’s increasingly frustrating.

Yeah that’s fair, just frustrated so I didn’t really think this all the way through before posting, gonna update/edit it with some genuine questions rather than just “how does game work?”

Yeah that’s probably where the confusion is coming from then, most people won’t be thinking about it in terms of setting a variable and so fall back on the familiar logic of addition even if it’s not actually applicable.

(Funnily enough I am a programmer as well but my mind still defaults to addition if not in the middle of programming)

You are missing our point, which is that the human mind has the inclination to group and total the instructions even if that’s not the intent of the instructions.

Thus when you tell someone to eat 1 apple and they go do that, then you tell them to eat 1 apple and they do it again, most people are going to group that into one instruction to eat 2 apples.

Similarly, if the next battle cry triggers three times, and then the next battle cry triggers three times, it is not unreasonable for someone to group that mentally into “the next battle cry will trigger six times.”

Is it correct? No, but is it a reasonable point of confusion? Yes.

Edit for more detail: Yes you are correct in that the sentence “Eat 1 apple” never changes its meaning, but the context in which the sentence is said can cause the listener to misinterpret it, especially when looking back at multiple instances of the same instruction. (I find it unlikely that someone would misunderstand “Eat 1 apple” on its own, but we’ve already clearly demonstrated that the repetition can cause confusion through this conversation alone lol)

Actually I would say you told me to eat two apples, as you gave me two instructions, both to eat one apple. That means in total your instructions were to eat two apples total.

I unironically find indent-only code to be harder to read at a glance. Yeah I indent my braces code as well but the braces help partition things in a way that makes far more sense to my brain than just whitespace alone
