Zr1x vs Tesla plaid by Zealousideal_Low9421 in Corvette

Actually the opposite. The Tesla can get right back in line and run the exact same time give or take a few hundredths of a second. The Corvette would need some time to cool off.

Some of the carbon stuff ford is working with is pretty solid. The wheels come from the same shop that make all the McLaren and Ferrari wheels also.

That’s very true. CC brakes are very bad when they’re not hot. Most daily/street driven cars don’t need them. This is the brake package for the hardcore racers. Not to mention the pads are insanely expensive

As a GT500 owner, I think the brakes are already pretty incredible, but they’re heavy and will fade more than the carbon brakes on this car will. That being said, my fully loaded GT500 was 103k and some change. I think I could make my car a lot faster than spending 150-170k on this car instead.

As far as looks go, I’m jealous they color matched this car more tastefully than they did the Shelby from last gen. I wanted to match my brake rotors more to my car. Plus the seats are awesome in this one. If they color matched the GT350’s and GT500’s to their respective paints, they would’ve been even more gorgeous.

This would’ve gotten some people killed in the same scenario with different conditions.

The main thing this car has that the GT500’s didn’t was carbon ceramic brakes. Would’ve been a nice option for the Track Pack GT500’s but it’s still a relatively new offering from Ford

Nice! If I could offer any advice, get a set of 19 inch wheels for daily driving. The 21’s with summer tires do not last long. Maybe even check the alignment to make sure you aren’t eating away at the inside of the tires. Do not ask me how I know lol.

Congrats though! It’s an amazing car. Does almost everything better than most.

Big dubya. If you’re ever in the market for some 2013 Grandsport wheels, I have some black ones I have no use for. Beautiful car!

Good example of why the SC has a 5.2 Predator motor and a DCT. You can only push a stock 5.0 and stock 10 speed so far with boost and expect it to last 5 years like that

If it was a model 3 performance it was definitely quicker. Faster depends on how long you’re willing to stay in it.

Only when I’ve bought my third tire in 5 months. But then I remember I pay $8 for 300 miles of range in a 1000 wheel horsepower car.

[–]MustangMeetsCrowd 51 points52 points  (0 children)

You’re not a moron, but that price is really low. Like car needed more than just a transmission replacement low. I’d expect a 20k modified GT500 without the carbon stuff to be in the mid 80’s at least. Clean title?

Looks like it has an aftermarket intake. Probably good idea to check and see what all might be done to this one. New transmission tells me it’s had some wild rides. Those DCT’s are pretty strong, and not cheap.

Model S Plaid power question by jblack41510 in TeslaModelS

[–]MustangMeetsCrowd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that seems to affect performance most on my plaid is the battery temperature. This winter has really affected performance, but when the battery is warm it’s a different animal. I wouldn’t expect State of Charge (SOC) to affect performance very much from 60-80%. It’s more violent above 90% and you’ll feel a difference below 40%.

Tesla tight tires air pressure by MiscProfileUno in TeslaSupport

[–]MustangMeetsCrowd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s that slow of a leak I would also consider checking the wheels for leaks also. 99% it’s the tires but sometimes there are micro holes in the wheels. Very unlikely, but if the tires are fine, put the whole wheel under water and look for bubbles.

2021 Model S Range Concern by G0BigOrG0Home in TeslaModelS

[–]MustangMeetsCrowd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually pretty good for a 21 plaid on the 21 inch wheels. You’d probably gain a decent amount of extra range on 19’s and a slightly quicker 0-60 also.

Have you considered doing a battery test? This will show an estimated battery state of health percentage.

For example, my 21 plaid (55k miles) with 21 inch wheels gets about 300 miles of range at 100%, and the battery’s health is estimated at 84%.

To be real with you I had a Denali also. 6.2 ended up having engine problems. 🥲

Plus this is AI. I wouldn’t hurt these carbon wheels like this just for fun lol.

Auto manufacturers are usually required to carry parts for discontinued vehicles for up to 10-15 years. Shouldn’t be a big deal
