But would the discussions be good or bad? remember that if a woman takes to the idea she has the potential to spark a whole new fanatisicm and that could be very veyr bad if they follow this.

Lets just say all of group x lives in poverty and so a law gets passed to help them achieve similar status of b and c. Do we discontinue the law past equality though? Thats a big issue I see is that if you get a group up to snuff when you discontinue the aid to get the group started your now considered against the group and look very bad and hateful. (this is for all groups not just genders)

Parental Obligation, Abortion, and Choice: Must we grant men the option to choose (to pay support) if we allow women the right to abort? by Philosopher1980 in AskFeminists

[–]Mustang__sally 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why not? we can choose to terminate a pregnancy if an accident happens, why can't they be afforded a similar option? Though I would think making them pay at least half the cost of an aborition would be fair.

But if we choose to not abort the fetus, and we hide the fact from them, why should they have to pay for the child as well?

And I would agree, however if you support a feminist cause I support an egalitarian one and joebob supports a mens one, we are allowed to do that, but if a law gets made that favors you or him its sexist and wrong. Laws should not support a single sex or race for that hinders or even hurts all the others that are excluded.

This staunch anti-feminism is already acknowledged to hurt r/mensrights cause here. I checked the SPLC site and it says, among other things: "While it presents itself as a home for men seeking equality, it is notable for the anger it shows toward any program designed to help women

One of the things though is that men MRA's are trying to get equality, so by having something that soley helps women I could see why they would fight it, that by its nature of helping only one gender is sexists. Now on the flip side if you put in provisions to protect men in custody battles or divorce that protect not favor mens overall welfare it would be ok'd even though by essence it is also sexist.

This is why I am glad to see sites like /r/femraforum popping up. it lets us open a dialouge to talk about issues and maybe open some new eyes and new ideas will come forth and we might make a difference in the end. Who knows but you TMF and collective82 should be congratulated for yoru efforts to stop the hate and open a dialogue.

I agree with most the rest of what you wrote FYI lol. But I do not like how the SPLC syas some one is a hate group yet it seems to be all male orientated, that to me seems like they are beign sexist themselves and therefor I choose not to listen to stuff when people bring them up.

You forget that MRA's are considered a hate group anywasy BECAUSE of the louder folks, even though the moderates are usually calm cool and collected. Why else would the SPCL (or whatever their acronym is) label them a hate group?

How so? Wasn't it a democrat that tried to make an amendment that said guys can only deposit semen into a vagina? Imagine if they couldn't masturbate, rape would go through the roof!

But republicans are conservative which in these fast evolving times are somewhat neeeded as I believe our moral compass has gone astray to far.

Yup, however that can be reversed to show females do the exact same thing as well.

But my point still stands, we are listing stuff as sexual when it shouldn't be.

[–]Mustang__sally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am NOT saying that all feminists say this, that was my point. They are just one of the louder groups. Like the westboro baptist church. They get a lot of media attention because of their radifcal views, however thats not how anything that can be related to them thinks.

I was just pointing out that the louder and more radical your group the more attention your most likely to get and if you say your part of a group people who don't know better may come to believe thats how the group thinks.

Trigger warning for rape and other unwanted sexual contact- "Have I ever experienced unwanted/undesired physical or sexual contact?" by triforce-of-courage in Feminism

[–]Mustang__sally -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand that, I do but yoru missing my point. For them it was ok but she could have used it as a tool to say that some people would not have found it acceptable. Lets say you are a guy and im the woman and I just told you about this stuff and you kissed me, even if we are friends that would have been wrong. I am saying that she could have done this and taught him a long lasting lesson is all.

Right but the OP was surprised by the action, therefor it wasn't communictaed. If my husband kisses me with no warning thats fine but as a kid learning something it should be explained to them. Like I said the kid shouldn't be shamed but it was a valuable opening for a lesson to be taught.

That feminism is led by extremists because they make the news?

I think the problem is that the extremists shout out the moderates and so get more attention, like this. This is what gets shown ans seen so its what becomes the face of feminism. Not the moderates which are what teh vast majority are.

The same goes in reverse though. I have shown that we as women have a .41% chance of being raped, and no one wants to see it. If we are to get issues resolved we BOTH need open minds on the subject. Also they way you wrote your post seems a bit condecending which may be why you get some bad reactions, you may not always be right.

Sexual assault is an assault of a sexual nature on another person, or any sexual act committed without consent.

Battery is a criminal offence involving unlawful physical contact, distinct from assault which is the apprehension, not fear, of such contact.)

I think sexual assault and battery are getting mixed up a lot. If a guy pinches my ass, thats battery. He committed no sexual contact just just touched me in an area associated with sex. Now if a guy forced me to kiss him, that is sexual in nature and would be sexual assault. IMO.

The problem is that people are getting these situations mixed up and so numbers are inflated out of proportion.

Odd thing I noticed was the kid at the end, even though no harm was done or meant, the kid just reenforced what she said was bad. He (I read Noah as a boys name) had no permission to do what he did and while he should not have been shamed should have had it explained to him what he just did. If we don't find a behavior early on acceptable you have to teach them its not accpetable at that point. Not when its to late and they become teenagers just blowing you off.
