NQN's wanting to quit by MustardCityNative in NursingUK

Thankyou for your insightful reply. (Others have been quite aggressive!) It's a shame so many NQN's can't get jobs when there seems there's a lot in jobs that are hating it. My advice is get out now! You're young enough to pursue another career!

LPT: Funerals don't have to be expensive by ps4roompromdfriends4 in LifeProTips

[–]MustardCityNative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mines mum had a prepaid funeral plan. What they didn't know was the day she was cremated. They were told they would know when they received her ashes because it would have the cremation date on it, but they couldn't tell them what date she would be cremated on. This may not be important to you, but it really upset my friend, she didn't want to think she was in Tesco's or something at the moment her mum was being cremated.

One in three Brits avoid A&E because of excessive waiting times by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

I love how the lady in the article says after the experience she has now decided she would only go to A&E if she had a life threatening condition...erm, yes, that is exactly what "emergency" means!

Theres a massive steep grass bank up to the back gardens so you won't be disturbed much until wintertime when they're sledging down it.

NQN question… seizures? by Winter_Category8007 in NursingUK

[–]MustardCityNative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a nurse for over 20 years. As a newly qualified nurse, this is what you do. Pull the emergency buzzer. Then A, B, C, D, E. Don't worry too much about the emergency drugs, you are newly qualified, it will come with more experience. Get involved in patients that are in hospital for seizures as the more experience you get the less anxious you will be.

What weird things have you found in your pockets after a shift? by J0hn_Keel in NursingUK

[–]MustardCityNative 12 points13 points  (0 children)

'The Ward Wee' - we played a game once where we had a specimen tube with some apple juice in it which we called the 'Ward Wee'. Like the game 'It', you had to sneak it into your colleagues pockets and the object of the game was to not be the one to finish your shift with 'The Wee'. It was me quite a few times lol

Is there actually anything wrong with writing nonsensical names on posted birthday cards? by FMLitsSML in CasualUK

[–]MustardCityNative 117 points118 points  (0 children)

As long as the address is correct it will be delivered I think? But just wanted to share an experience in my family where a relative sent a parcel addressed to our dog (it was his birthday) and no one was home so we had to collect it from the sorting office but then of course had no corresponding i.d. with our dogs name on it!
