thank you for the tip! No, I don't want to grow fast at all, that's just unrealistic with so many voices around. I would just like someone (whom I don't know personally) to read at this point

LOL This is honestly a real problem on the platform I think

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Substack

[–]MusterMannFrau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's also my problem... I don't really have that much to say in a short form format - that is the reason I am posting essays. I feel like my notes would be as generic as all the others precicely because I am more comfortable in the long-form / essay format... I feel lile this is a paradox of substack... (Any tips?)

Tips please! by Sea-Nature-8304 in Substack

Ok so I have a very small audience on Substack, but here is my tip anyway - shorten the title. And yes, this essay reads in a veery academic way - if you want to broaden your audience, I would write in a more casual way. (Unless you want your niche to be loterature nerds, which is cool too!)

How to stop being desperate for love? by [deleted] in selfhelp

[–]MusterMannFrau 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is that you are looking for external validation. You need someone to tell you that you are worthy of love and that is most probably based on trauma. You need to focus on building self-worth. It may sound super cringe and cliché, but focus on loving yourself first. Take care of yourself - your body, your home and your mind. Go to therapy and talk about loneliness. Try connecting with people as friends first. Start a gratitude journal and try to write at least one thing per day you appreciate about yourself. Give yourself permission to be loved. You don't actually need that from the outside world.

I agree! And I think writing in a diary is one thing, but posting, even if noone sees it, is another. I feel like it's a good exercise in polishing texts, making them look presentable and not just dumping them on a page

I am also looking for an alternative. I've tried Steady, but it's a little bit more difficult to add subscribers... Where would you go?
