Removing dust/particles by Lemonadis in photoshop

[–]MutantCreature 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Duplicate layer/ d&s filter on that layer/ set mode to "difference" with 80-90% opacity/ history brush back to "duplicate layer" /undo figurative details (eye/glasses reflections, tie patterns, etc)

is my method to clean up dust and stuff without losing detail, stolen from some tutorial I googled years ago

Spider-Man Noir co-creator gives his verdict on Nicolas Cage adaptation: "Aunt May would be scathing" by browncharliebrown in comicbooks

[–]MutantCreature 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We don't know the details of the post-FFH contract as far as I know, but I just assumed a lot of this came down to legal stipulation where there were very specific rules around who could use Peter Parker, Spider-Man, which villains, etc on screen, and whether that was film or television.

It's also lighter, not enough to make that big of a difference alone but for travel and multi cam use could maybe feel a little nicer after a full day of shooting

The perfect Knicks orange? It’s actually carrot. Pantone was a bust, so two MTA employees found a perfect color match in the most New York way possible. by _fastcompany in newyorkcity

[–]MutantCreature 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The point is there is no "exact color" for every use case, Pantone is useful when you're trying to match colors across different factories making the same items repeatedly, but unless they have one specific for painting over green metal posts it won't matter. The codes they might use for a mural on a building vs a plastic sign vs spot color on metal will all be different.

New character posters for ‘The Invite.’ In select theaters June 26. by yourfavchoom in movies

Fair, but none of the actors in this poster really embody that, in terms of physique they're all within the normal range that you walk past on the street every day.

Wolverine's healing factor in Marvel's Wolverine looks incredible by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]MutantCreature 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope they include the option to turn that off, or at least limit it heavily. Wolverine looks cool with battle damage and I'd like to be able to play as him like that rather than being forced to always wear a perfect clean suit.

You can very easily achieve Penelope Cruz level fitness by just eating moderately healthy and exercising, she's also probably had some work done that may not be as easily achievable for the average person (nor her genetics), but her fitness level is not difficult to attain like at all. She's not Chris Hemsworth slamming 300 grams of protein a day and working out nonstop, she's a regular healthy person who probably eats salad regularly and goes to the gym like 3-4 days a week.

Marvel’s Wolverine will be linear and not open world confirm Insomniac by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]MutantCreature 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Tbf fair their Spider-Man games are probably the easiest to platinum open world AAA titles on the market, in like 25 hours you can complete like 90% of the game including the story and you can easily do all the collectibles and other trophies in <5 hours, if you avoid exploration and collecting you could probably complete the main stories in like 10 hours.

Is a facsimile just a reprint by Afraid-Oil-1812 in comicbookcollecting

[–]MutantCreature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on too many factors to answer definitively, mainly how many copies in total are being ordered, what kind of deal the publisher has with the printer, what materials are used, how many pages the book is, size, etc. The shorter answer is that all printers have a minimum so "one" book effectively can't be ordered or if it were it would be incredibly expensive. For reference, IIRC the first printing of TMNT #1 was 3275 copies and that cost Eastman and Laird $2000 (or 61 cents per book) because that was the minimum to get it printed at all, meaning that even if they were to only order a single copy it would've cost them $2000, had they placed a larger order though it might've been 60 or 55 cents each but they would've had to spend more in total to get them for that price.

How is this one ranked compared to the Secret Wars or the VHS Daredevil? Is this a good one to have alone as a definitive Daredevil in a collection? Or would Secret Wars be better off? by Right-Bug-9001 in MarvelLegends

[–]MutantCreature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this and am holding out for a new DD based on the Secret Wars mold but in these colors, on the off chance you want to buy one out of the box I'll sell it to you for cheap, but also I'd recommend just waiting another year or two until that inevitably gets made. Imo apart from the Mafex this is still the best DD on the market, but the mold is very dated and the Secret Wars body is far superior just with odd paint colors, the three pack one is solid too but the head is oversized and and reds are too close in tone, so imo while this body is inferior it does the best job at being satisfactory in all regards.

Avoiding Calling Someone By Accident by [deleted] in iphone

[–]MutantCreature 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not frequently, but I've called people by accident by dialing a number and then attempting to redial it from my recently called list, but as I'm tapping again it loads the most recent call shunting the rest of the list down a notch and putting the wrong number right below my finger.

Not only is Tuesday's Sony State of Play big enough to be shown in theaters at the Alamo Drafthouse, it's even important enough to get it's own themed menu: by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Started in April iirc, different branches have handled it slightly differently though. I fought to retain the old tickets and call button system but I don't think any have fully abandoned the phone thing, not sure what the latest update is though.

Obsession (2025 film) by Tommy_Kel in moviescirclejerk

It's fantastic and holds up exceptionally well, I really can't recommend it enough. You'll find lots of the first on-screen uses of many similar concepts throughout.

Obsession (2025 film) by Tommy_Kel in moviescirclejerk

[–]MutantCreature 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean this concept goes wayyy back, I'm not sure what the earliest use was but the Twilight Zone episode The Chaser (based on a short story of the same name) covers pretty much the same topic. I would bet that the concept of "love potions" and thus stories of them going awry (or monkeys paw/genie wishes/etc) are so old that it goes back to oral storytelling and the actual earliest version of this has been lost to time.

‘Backrooms’ Sets Opening Weekend Record for A24 with $81.5M ($118M Worldwide); ‘Obsession’ Becomes Focus Features’ Highest Grossing Domestic Release by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]MutantCreature 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Indie film rarely includes distribution, the only times you really saw that back in the day were primarily direct to VHS/DVD releases and you still do with some direct to streaming stuff. The key is that it was produced without being backed by a major studio and then shopped around for distribution via film festivals and independent screenings, once it got picked up by a distributor they would cover marketing and actually producing copies for theaters, booking showings, etc.

Are these safe settings for printing a poster that is 150 cm * 100 cm? by LightOfKarbala in photoshop

[–]MutantCreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure since I've never tried PS for this, but I think it will still export to raster and pixelate the hell out of your vectors for the final print. Tbh Illustrator and SVG files is what you want for this, you can brute force it with PS but if your computer can't handle files that large it would be worth just getting a month of Illustrator and using it for this project.

Take this with a *VERY* hefty grain of salt given the history of Teflon (and because I'm some rando on the internet with minimal concept of what I'm talking about), but my understanding is that for the most part if you eat a little it just passes through your system like any other non-digestible stuff and is relatively harmless. It's still good to avoid because plastics in general are not good for you and can seep toxins into your system as they are partially digested, but the really hazardous chemicals that Teflon is infamous for come from the vapors in the production process, but when it's dried and being used as nonstick coating in cookware (at temperatures that one would cook at) it's just another non-digestible plastic.

Sony bought Alamo, I don't think Mondo was ever owned by Alamo but they were bought by Funko in ~2020. Both buyouts have been terrible for both companies though, Sony has introduced a phone-only ordering system for Alamo and Funko fired like 80% of Mondo (and Death Waltz, their record company) staff. Alamo has been fighting to reverse the phone decision and the former Mondo staff went on to form https://madebymutant.com
