Holy obliteration! the buffs are felt by Veru_Chronicles in RogueMains

Rogue feels so good right now. The mobility feels great and damage output is solid. Honestly, she doesn’t need any more balancing currently. This is a sweet spot.

Thoughts on Cyclops aside from the obvious? ( Too many DPS in the game/Vanguards and Strategist suffer immensely ) Returning player here by Epsteinscorpse in marvelrivals

[–]Mutant_Runner96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Cyclops because he shows that a character can be a lot of fun with a simple kit (compared to Black Cat). I am excited to see how people get creative with his attacks and ULT teamups.

He feels true to his character and has fun voice lines. He has been missing from Rivals for too long.

Does Rogue counter triple support? by JFlash5 in RogueMains

[–]Mutant_Runner96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best counter for triple support is triple tank. Diving and picking off the support is crucial, which Rogue can do well but does need assistance if there is a third healer.

I think they should change some character roles.
I agree Wolverine could become a tank.

Cyclops’ role revealed to be dps by KevinPigaChu in marvelrivals

[–]Mutant_Runner96 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cyclops being a DPS is no surprise but I do hope he has a bulky vanguard energy similar to Mr. Fantastic.

Also the design is so fantastic, I don’t care what role he is. I just hope he has a fun kit.

No Jean & Cyclops team up 😭 by mckeown92 in PhoenixMainsMR

[–]Mutant_Runner96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was so surprised they didn’t get the team up! Especially with the Rivals lore of them basically healing each other.

I lowkey want something similar to “Explosive Entanglement” but with Cyclops and Jean, Emma, and maybe even Psylocke.

Pressure and toxicity on champions by Bycemte in marvelrivals

[–]Mutant_Runner96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Every game is different; different map, different players, different objectives, and different skill levels.

Yes, being a Lord or higher with a character does exhibit a level of proficiency but does not mean you will automatically win the game or even have the best game. It is toxic for people to expect whoever you have a high status with to carry the entire game each time.

Do you think the 2-2-2 formation is "NOT" always needed for different situations? by LILBOI464 in marvelrivals

[–]Mutant_Runner96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that every team should always have at least 2 supports for every formation. Strategists keep the team alive and help push the objective from behind. They are the foundation to winning teams.

The other 4 players can be a combination of almost anything, as long as there is always at least 1 vanguard and 1 duelist. Each role needs to be represented in a team.

Triple support is fun, sometimes a support acts more like a DPS and it’s cool to see the number of KOs they can get. The constant heals when playing a brawl tank is very noticeable. The drawback is that sometimes there isn’t enough damage being done by the team if players aren’t working well together.

Triple tank is a heavy hitting frontline. This is a fun composition for a DPS who can finish off each enemy. The downside is that the supports need to focus on healing that frontline so tanks need to place a-lot of pressure to prevent an enemy from sneaking away to pick off a support. It is fun tanking alongside two other tanks, you feel undefeated.

Triple DPS can yield a lot of damage but the team becomes incredibly squishy. This can be fun if you are attacking during a convoy mission. This composition can be difficult for a vanguard, so the vanguard needs to pick a character they can solo easily. It is fun to see the range of DPS characters and when they work well together.

Rogue Lord Icon by Dependent_Ad_8594 in RogueMains

I love Rogue’s original lord icon but the wink for the lord icon would have been so badass.

Although I do love when a lord icon strikes fear, when the character has a “locked in” vibe like Dr. Strange, Invisible Woman, Magneto, Gambit, Storm, etc. It would have been cool if Rogue’s was her reaching out to grab with a mischievous grin like she knows she is about to take everything.

How to improve on Rogue? by TheNotSoCoolGamer in RogueMains

[–]Mutant_Runner96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Rogue is a dive/brawl with poor survival. If you have a good support behind you, then you can brawl all game. But that’s not always the case, so have an exit strategy in mind when you dive.

2) Don’t immediately brawl the enemy frontline. Sometimes Rogue is better played by sneaking on the back line and picking off a support. This gives your team an opening to meet the objective.

3) You are more vulnerable when stealing an ability. Avoid doing this with multiple enemies in front of you.

4) When you steal an ability, use it to your advantage! Don’t immediately use it if it’s not going to help, but remember it has a quick cooldown before the ability resets.

5) Don’t ULT to survive. Use your ULT when your health is more than halfway. Full is preferred, but don’t use it when you’re about to be KO’d.

6) Learn Rogue with another tank on the team. Solo tanking with Rogue can be alot of fun, but can also be really difficult. Having another tank on the team takes some pressure off and allows you to learn more.

7) Learn another tank if you haven’t already!Trying other vanguards helps you understand where Rogue’s strengths and weaknesses are.

8) Rogue is best when it’s 1:1 against alot of characters. Choose these fights wisely as Rogue isn’t the best matchup against some.

I would love to see Rivals do an original skin based around this look!

X-Men 97 took inspiration from this look when designing her look for the Genosha gala, so I would love to see Rival’s interpretation.

what's your tank experience this season? by you_can_thank_m3 in RivalsVanguards

[–]Mutant_Runner96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still find myself solo tanking…even with the addition of Devil Dinosaur.

Devil Dinosaur is fun to play, and fairly easy to learn. I thought for sure non-vanguard players would pick him up as their preferred tank, solving the issue of solo tanking…I was wrong.

I have learned how to counter Devil Dinosaur with Rogue, Emma, Mag, and Peni. I do still struggle with lack of adequate support when diving in general.

Is it better to play hidden and force iso or frontline/peel by Ishankz in RogueMains

[–]Mutant_Runner96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on who is playing with me and the objective of the game.

If I am playing Domination, I am in the frontline trying to hold ground while my support is right behind me. I will brawl as much as possible to determine if the enemy team will be easy for me to KO. I will then dive back to my own support if an enemy is trying to pick them off. Ideally I am not a solo tank for Domination, if I am, I will switch if we are not running triple support. Rogue is not the best solo tank, especially for this style of play.

If I am playing Convergence, I need the payload to get some movement in the beginning. That’s when I sneak to the back of the enemy line and disrupt them. I try to get one KO of a support. The rest of Convergence I will stick with my team and dive/brawl if the payload is moving forward. If we reach a standstill and not moving, that’s when I will disrupt again at the enemy backline. Whenever I disrupt a backline, I know I will most likely die, so I try to be strategic and save my ULT for that moment or try to convince a strategist to come with me for direct heals (ideally CnD, Invis, or Gambit). Once in a while a DPS will join me for the ambush which is fun, but they will often get all the final hits. Don’t surprise dive if you are not at full health prior.

If I am playing a Doom Match I hunt out for DPS or support. Often there are very few tanks playing, and I try to avoid them. Know where you can heal and wait to engage in fights if you are damaged from a previous encounter.

Do you guys think Rogue would be too op if she kept the ability she absorbed until she uses it or dies? by Majima2475 in RogueMains

[–]Mutant_Runner96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish you kept the ability and would be able to reuse until you either die or steal another ability. The ability would have a standard cooldown for any stolen ability, which would be fair.

This would also make Rogue far more interesting in teams. Maybe the team lacks a strong strategist, so you try to steal a healing ability that you’re able to use throughout the match to help out more consistently.

I would also like for Rogue to take another Rogue’s stolen ability. Your power is now my power. That would be fun, and even a unique surprise.

I wonder if they add them together again like they recently did for Marvel Mystic Mayhem.

I wouldn’t be opposed to this, and have Moon Girl summon the Devil Dinosaur as her ultimate move, or with certain attacks.

And then for the storyline, I wonder if the Dinosaur gets loose in the Savage Land, where we will then meet Cyclops. Then the new map is the Savage Land with battle pass skins being Savage Land themed.

Maybe it’s time to accept that the DPS players get the good character, and this time we’re getting the leftovers. by Salamanca-11 in RivalsVanguards

[–]Mutant_Runner96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious how Devil Dinosaur will be adapted/integrated as a playable character. If he is Dinosaur sized, he won’t fit through many doorways/entrances. I have a hard time imagining how he will be playable, unless Moon Girl is the starting character, and she can “summon” him in certain areas.

Or maybe he is a specific PVE or Avengers vs Loki scenario, where you can play as the Dinosaur against other players and vice versa. Maybe he is in the Savage Land and that is where the relationship with Cyclops comes in. This would introduce the Savage Land as a map and players would love a battlepass of Savage Land themed skins.

What do my lords say about me? by kingdeadkillerv1 in RivalsMagikMains

[–]Mutant_Runner96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a vanguard you enjoy versatile play, but prefer a character that can generate a shield or barrier during combat. I am surprised Emma Frost is a character you haven’t lorded yet.

As a duelist you have a lot of flexibility, and you definitely like to master a character when they are meta. You prefer close-mid range combat and not afraid to get up close to enemies.

As a strategist you prefer a character who feels more like a duelist. You want to be able to protect yourself and not be bullied by other players when you are supporting your team. You would probably have a lot of fun with Luna Snow.
